Re: Maschine Group Change by launching scene
The question is unintentionally vague. By Scene do you mean the Scenes in Maschine? or the Session View Scene in Live? Ableton and NO have named similar features in theses two applications the same thing. You can definitely launch Scenes in Maschine (which are collections of Groups in Maschine) by l...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
I am on an M1 MacBook Air... So it may work with Big Sur, but it doesn't appear to load on M1 apple silicon. I was about to contemplate Soundtoys due to the sale, too... dang... EDIT: I just read the full comment saying it SHOULD work on Apple Silicon. Let me try again. Will update. EDIT: ILOK WORK...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
Love this. Seems like Rosetta 2 is miles above what Rosetta 1 was. 8) I've got an old as the hills 2012, and I was about to buy a laptop when Apple announced the Apple Silicon Arm etc. move. I'm waiting for the 16", but it's great to know those of you that bought the 13" are doing just fine. Most re...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
I based my assumptions on OS Market share. You based yours on a conversation you had 15 years ago? cool. Because we are talking about music, music applications and the creative fields in general. No one really cares if Windows is installed on 85% of the machines out there, if we're talking about ch...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
Alternate take: You could have just said baseless assumptions and it would have worked. Ableton's Windows to Mac OS market share is probably not any different than it was 15 years ago when I sat down with one of the guys from Ableton who told me it was a 50/50 split between the two. It's possible i...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
Ableton have to at the very least deal with the Cycling 74 team and Max4Live, and AAS for Analog, Tension, Collision etc. etc. So three different companies with teams of developers have to port Suite to Apple Silicon. I wouldn't expect this to be as quick as they were porting from PPC to Intel. I wo...

Re: Live 11 is coming !!!
I'm curious how well the new Apple processors will work with Ableton Live. I've been waiting for the new Macs to launch so I could upgrade and now I'm in a weird predicament. I don't want to buy one and then not be able to make music on it. But at the same time, I don't want to buy last year's mode...

Roli are not the only makers of MPE controllers.
and it's MPE not MBE!

Re: Live 11 is coming !!!
Count me as one of the impressed. Pleasantly surprised to see Follow Actions get some love. Also really happy that MPE finally came, as well as comping. This is a great update for Live users. My only question it's the Apple event where they're pretty obviously going to announce new Apple Silicon chi...

Re: Push 2 MPE Support
So there are 5 possible MPE parameters. Push can support polyphonic Aftertouch, Release, and Velocity. There are two more that I cannot see how it would support, glide (basically a multitimbral CC value) and pitch. basically soft pads are not going to be compatible with sliding between notes, and I ...

Re: Ableton 10.2, It's time.... for getting better
ableton is a great daw for mixing, it has convenient automation, functional routing. The only thing that interferes with this process is problems with plugins related from BPM, as well as the complete inoperability of the m4l LFO / Envelope follower / etc, which are VERY needed today for mastering....

Re: Ableton 10.2, It's time.... for getting better
it's still time. already middle of September and still no update possibly due to covid, the release was postponed to October, like iphone 12 = D Does anyone actually have any hint of a clue of a possible approximate release date? :| Tarekith is always more succinct, but here's a big clue about this...

Re: Struggles we are going through
I have had a lot more time lately to actually make music thanks to Covid ending all my travel plans, but I'm just not in a creative space at the moment. Makes me annoyed and frustrated that fate and the randomness of writer's block has conspired to not make these two things align. Like I'm wasting ...

Re: Struggles we are going through
Maybe people get MPE controllers for some other usage I can't think of, but the marketing for those controllers sells real-time expressiveness, like a "real instrument", not some weird techy parameter manipulation. Nothing is an either/or situation involving art. I like being able to edit my freefo...

Re: Struggles we are going through
The less constraints/limitations I have, the less I finish things. One way I can completely relate is the search for an MPE native DAW. Live and my dinosaur of choice DP10 both do not natively support MPE. There are OK workarounds in both, but the process saps the fun out of MPE instruments, for me...
