Re: Can't hear my plugins
I was more referring to the Midi Monitor in the same folder you found Velocity.
Anyway, set the Mode in the Velocity device you have there to 'fixed' and with the Out Hi set to around 90 you should have a decent level.
But you should definitely check if your keyboard is sending the right velocity ...

Re: Can't hear my plugins
Can you check what velocity values your keyboard is sending out? Do this with the Velocity midi plugin. In the top right corner you'll see the number. Hitting the keys fairly hard should give you a velocity around 100 or more. If hitting hard only gets you a low velocity value, your keyboard is ...

Can't hear my plugins
Hey everyone!
So I can't hear my plugins. I mean I can, but the volume just seems to be sooooo low I have to strain it's crazy. I know they're working because I do hear them and if I add the audio effect utility and turn up the gain it get's louder. But I just don't feel like I should have to do ...

Re: Control surfaces
Yes, you need to add an instrument. When you see a stack of dots instead of a level meter, it means the track is only sending MIDI data, no audio. Hence you cannot select the Main channel, which only receives audio.
Oh I get it! I just added addictive keys and it's working just fine!
Thank ...

Re: Control surfaces
Right now I have a Launchpad X (just learning that) and a midi 88 key keyboard. Using focusrite 4i4 and ableton 12 trial.
Don't worry, you are covered, only thing you will need is an actual Live license after the trial runs out.
Seems you have a decent budget, I recommend getting Suite ...

Re: Control surfaces
You mentioned that you want controllers that cover the basics. It seems to me you have those. Why are you considering getting another?
Perhaps it would be better to fully understand the ones you currently have first. Once you do, I suggest creating a list of features you miss to answer your "why ...

Control surfaces
Hello everyone,
I just need some advice on what you would recommend I start out with to produce stuff. I'm sure it's all about what I want to do but everyone I bring up online using ableton seem to have 3 or 4 midi controllers. I just want the basics in order to create some songs with a bunch of ...

Novation Launchpad X
Hey everyone!
I just started with my launchpad X and can't figure out how to get this one particular sound to work.
I'm doing the Ableton 12 trial and it's a bass sound called Jupiter plus bass. I've loaded a couple drum kits which work just fine.
The track is armed. When I click on the piano roll I ...

Audio / wav question
Hey everyone,
I'm a noob to the whole mixing thing so please forgive my ignorance. But I'm curious as to why the vocal wav files I create are so tiny. I normally add the utility and reverb plugins, and use the utility to crank up the gain so I can hear it. But is it normal that the wav/audio track ...

Count in without recording
Hey everyone!
Is there a way to use the metronome count in without using record?
Or do I need to make a click track just to count me in?
Thanks

Don't really like the Hummmmmm :)
Hey Everyone!
So how do I get rid of the occasional hummmm like feedback on my audio track, that I'm fairly certain is coming from the D string while strumming my guitar. Possibly from bleeding through my vocals mic.... Not quite sure but, is there a way to upload a piece of a project so you can ...

Of Course that was the answer! I just thought since I could listen to it in my media player it would work. That's what I get for thinkin'!
Thank you SO much!
