Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (SOLVED)**

My word I really wouldn't do it that way, but each to their own. personally I use a preset selector device which takes MIDI program change controls from my control keyboard. So If I press program "1" on my master I get my preset 1 in the rack. In this gif I'm pressing on my master keyboard Program ...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (SOLVED!!) **

So, i've come up with a solution, thank to your help and some other videos i've found on youtube. If you're up to play keyboards in your band, and your setup is pretty complex in terms of number of scenes, tracks and sounds, i think you will find it extremely usefull to set ABLETON this way: https:/...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

try macro-mapping (green map mode) 8 of the controls from your chosen synth to its instrument rack's 8 macros. you should then be able to control these 8 macros automatically, as you have the KeyLab set up as a control surface. the only thing you need to midi-map (blue map mode) is the buttons to s...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

looks like you're physically mapping the Protrusion param (there's a cc number shown on it), rather than letting the control script take control of the current instrument's 8 macros automatically, which is what i assumed you were trying to do. if you hard-map a control, it won't switch to the curre...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

so what is your issue exactly? do you want to save on CPU or do you want your instruments to sound the same regardless of the settings on your Keylab when you start a new song ? it's not very clear. it's an interesting issue though. I wish i could have real time controllers to reset anytime i selec...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

you'll need to set up your instrument rack differently, so that each chain in the main instrument rack holds its own instrument rack with discreet macros. then you can map some buttons on your controller to act as chain/instrument selectors. map these buttons to each child instrument rack's header ...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

I can't think of a solution for your problem using only knobs. However, depending on what you want to achieve, there might be a workaround. If you want your instruments to load in a certain state, you can always create some automation for your macros. That's what I woumld do. This way you can tweak...

Re: ** ABLETON AS LIVE KEYBOARD RIG (HELP!!) **

The "blue hand" is only for macro control... Basically if you hard-map your controls to actual controls in a device they will control that device regardless of where you are in the project. What you need to do to have track-selected control is wrap your instrument inside a rack (select all the devi...

Re: Switching MIDI mapping

Your keyboard already has this functionality. What you can do is unmap the knobs from anything (or turn off 'Remote' in preferences, but it is better to unmap the knobs), then make sure to have the Launchkey chosen as your Control Surface (top part of Live's midi preferences). If you load any instr...
