Here's the real problem with this... Yes vocal comping is painful, but the workarounds are still at least somewhat doable if it's only a few tracks. But try tracking drums with no comping feature. Imagine creating 12 new tracks, 1 for each mic, every time you wanted a new take. 10 takes would result ...
