Alchemystic, I'm trying to find a solution to your problem. Your edit says Ableton "automatically handles the transfer of mappings"? Where and how does it do that?

In arrangement view, set your track's input to "No Input" and the track's record button disappears. (To access the track's input selector, show the "In/Out" View.)
