Re: freezing tracks revert to prior freeze

If you tweak some internal parameter in a VST that somehow is not exposed to the host, then Live can't know anything has changed and will keep using the already created "freeze file". I think it may be easier to "tweak" something that is exposed to the host (or parameter in Live itself, like Pan or...

Re: freezing tracks revert to prior freeze

just wanted to update the thread with my work around as if someone ever runs into the same problem if I've already frozen a track and unfreeze, make some adjustments and want to refreeze without Ableton reverting to the original freeze, I just duplicate the track and delete the original, Ableton wil...

Re: Low Cut increases volume?

from my experience doing cuts always results with an increase in volume, I don't think its an Ableton thing(the person I learned from was on logic using a proQ2) so when using your ears and cutting until you can hear an audible difference then pulling back as not to effect that actual sound, or even...

freezing tracks revert to prior freeze

I noticed that if I freeze a track and then unfreeze it, make an adjustment and freeze again it reverts back to the initial freeze and doesn't freeze the adjustment I made, in live 9 whenever id freeze a track and unfreeze, make an adjustment and freeze again, it would go through the freeze render m...

Re: Max out iMac pro upgrade worth it? Single core score ?’s

Just wanted to ask how far off you think we are from from computers or Daws being able to spread every element of a Daw(Ableton specifically) across all cores as in not dedicating a single track to a specific core leading to overload? making sure the other cores pick up the slack and are maxed out b...

Re: Max out iMac pro upgrade worth it? Single core score ?’s

Thanks for that TLW, I’ll definitely be holding off on Catalina for the moment as well, will have to upgrade to 10 at that time, looking forward to see how 10 handles in my workflow. I think 96k sample rate would work great with these new t-racks tape plug-ins (I think I read somewhere that they are...

Re: Max out iMac pro upgrade worth it? Single core score ?’s

thank you fishmonkey and machinesworking for the replies fish you wrote "it doesn't make sense to compare the CPU usage in Activity Monitor with the Live audio processing meter, as overall CPU utilisation is not a good measure of DAW performance. you need to think more about what is the weakest link...

Max out iMac pro upgrade worth it? Single core score ?’s

So I’ve been thinking about taking my 8 core with 64 gb of ram iMac pro and maxing it out to 18 core 128 gb of ram, just watched a video where Linus does this upgrading the cores from 8 to 18 and the ram from the 32 to 128, and everything worked! My question is, would it even be worth it using Ablet...

Re: Audio fuller/louder when routing out Battery and Omnisphere

thanks for the response jlgrimes, lately I've been trying to do as little mixing in the creative process as possible, as before I would mix as I go and tords the end with an ampex atr 102 and a limiter on the master buss fill in the blanks, very good results as well, but I find it extremely difficul...

So you are claiming that the volume difference only happens with Battery and Omnisphere but not with any other instruments routed to audio tracks?
when routed internally, so if I routed Battery in Ableton's track Audio to section to a new audio track the level change doesn't
happen

Re: Audio fuller/louder when routing out Battery and Omnisphere

so I just went back and it seems Battery is about an 8db difference in level, I guess you could be right about perceiving the fuller sound as when dropping the level they sound almost identical, but it feels like the one thats not routed is slightly more veiled hence the one being routed fuller Afte...
