here is my problem. ableton tries to do auto update, but it fails as I'm not connected to the internet. If Live is 'aware' of updates means you were online at some point but did not complete the update. So instead of being able to upgrade to 22, I either have to leave my machine in the house until ...

You can set a long name and a short name in the Max Inspector window.
This affects how the name is shown in the device in Live, in automation, and on Push.

What is the size of the cache?
Did you try if increasing the size solves the issues?

Nope. Half of Push' functionality in Max has gone with the Push 3 technology. Ableton and Cycling74 are obviously aware of this.
I assume these renumeration icons not working is just another part that's gone.

I tried the same things you described a while ago. I saw them in existing devices, copied things, and learned how this works the hard way. The lack of proper and complete Max for Live documentation is annoying. My test device works fine in Live 11, but the images don't appear on Push in combination ...

so I can't pinpoint which plugin. You can start by removing tracks one by one and see if the problem persists. When you find the offending track, yo do the same with the plugins. You really need to narrow it down. Are there any (outdated) Max devices in the project? Old versions of VST wrappers are...

Not possible. A Max device could probably do this.

The only thing I can think of is an option in the file Opions.txt (which is not a new Live 12 feature). But since you have never had issues before, the question is how it got there. Anyway, it's worth checking the file to rule things out. Go to your preferences folder and see if you have a file call...

Nope, it wasn't free.
The upgrade price and pricing scheme for Live 11 were similar to those for Live 12. Live 11 was only free when you recently bought Live 10.

CC Control is not a Max device.
