I think, on Mac you can route a midi signal from Live`s midi out back to Live`s midi in with the IAC midi driver. I`m on WIN10 and use LoopMidi for this purpose.
Make a midiclip with a note, send it track out to the IAC midi loop and back to Live via midi remote in to the record button.

At first I would try to find out, what midi messages exactly come from the Roland PG-1000. Have a look at the Midi Implementaion Chart of the Roland PG-1000 or use a midi tool like MIDIOX. Obviously you have to convert these messages to usable midi messages for Live (CCs). Maybe Bomes Midi Translato...

I once had a BCR200. I think the two extra midi ports BCR2000 (1) and BCR2000 (2) belong to the hardware midi out ports of the BCR2000 (Midi Out A+B).
This is in USB-Mode 3. Use it for hardware synths or drumcomputer. You can ignore, if you don`t use them.

Try PGM change within the clip. Therefore the VST should be able to receive midi PGM. In Kontakt use "Instrument Bank", but I think the VST 3 version cannot receive PGM change, when I tried it lately. VST 2 works with PGM change.

Put the audio effects on an audio track, from where your guitar comes into Live.

My experience with the support is: they try to do their best and they are very helpful.
