For me the issue was that I had the wrong drivers installed. Apparently there are separate drivers if you are using it as a multi-track interface vs a stereo mix. If you set the H6 to use as multi-track interface you have to specifically install the multi-track drivers for it from the downloads page...

I agree, it's baffling that there seems to be no way to do this. In fact it seems like there is no way to select a marker and anything else at the same time, not even another marker !
