Re: Session View vs. Arrangement?
First of all, for what you want to do the answer is yes, you should start in arrangement view and not worry too much about session view. Second, Live has one of the best and most comprehensive manuals out there. I really don't understand your complaints on this front. Third, go to the help menu and ...

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
Really? I do use Norton, and I really hope that's not the cause. I wouldn't want to have to choose between being able to use Live and leaving my computer vulnerable to viruses/attacks.DukeOfPrunes wrote:I was able to reduce my high CPU usage issue by disabling my Norton Antivirus, in case this is relevant to others.

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
It would be extremely helpful if you people that have issues share problem sets, involved plug-ins as well as your hardware setup and in addition report your specific problems with the relevant info directly to Ableton. Performance issues are IMHO vital to solve as soon as possible. I've had this p...

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
• Live 10 is stable for one moment, than the next the CPU increases from 20 % to any percentage between 50 and 90, with crackling and unstable audio as a result. Ironic, but this is totally unusable in live settings at the moment. You also need to watch the CPU usage in the OS itself. The native me...

Just rename it (top left) and hit the save button (top right).

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
I have a similar issue. I'm working on a project on which the CPU marker hovered around 30-50% in Live 9, and now in Live 10 it's around 90%. Even the default track that loads when you start up Live 10 goes past 90%. And I have an i7-8700K CPU with 16 GB DDR4-3000 RAM and I'm running Live (and most...

Re: Using Windows 10 pro with Live
I don't think so. AFAIK the only difference is that Pro has some extra features that most people don't really need.Cactus factus wrote:Are there any differences between Windows home and Windows pro when using Live? What is good way to preconfig Windows 10 pro?

Re: CPU usage in Live 10
Any word from the developers on this issue yet? I'm breaking 100% and getting crackling from a single instance of Serum (i-8700k, 16gb ram, everything is on an SSD).

Re: Sample Libraries on SSD or HDD
Put your most used (especially the big ones) on ssd, the other ones on hdd. That's how I do and that's the best solution imho... Until the cost of ssd drops. That's why I thought about getting and 250GB m.2 SSD for the system instead of 500GB and the cheaper 2.5" SSD for the sample libraries. ...

Re: Sample Libraries on SSD or HDD
I don't know about "best", but option 1 is the way I do it and it's always been fine. If you go Thunderbolt or USB3 for the external drives load times are still fairly snappy. This was my original plan, but the reason I am hesitating is because I'm currently on my old computer (with no SS...

Sample Libraries on SSD or HDD
I'm about to build a new PC, and I have most of my parts more-or-less figured out, but I have a question about storing sample libraries. I just got a Composer Cloud subscription, so I'm going to have at least a couple hundred GBs of samples. I'm planning to get a 3TB HDD, but debating between severa...

Re: Ableton Suite Upgrade 9 -> 10
"Upgrading" to Standard would in reality be a huge downgrade from what you have now (no Operator, no Sampler, no M4L, etc.). Why would you want to pay any money to do that? The difference is only $10 because they want to encourage you to upgrade to Suite and discourage you from downgrading...

Re: BEST CHOICE - i7 8700K or i7 7820X ?
I'm also interested, if someone can elaborate about Live's use (or lack of use) of multiple cores. How do you determine that? Is Live unique in its inability to take advantage of multiple cores or is this the case in every DAW? Like the previous poster, I keep hearing about this but haven't found an...

Re: Good synth plugins other than Serum and Massive?
I got it and really like the presets. Haven't gotten around to actually learn it or program any sounds in it, though. Definitely worth the $1 I spent on it just for the presets.Stromkraft wrote:Anyone tried the Hybrid 3, that still seems to be on sale?
