I have a clip that loops for 4 bars when I press play and that's how I want it - but when I press stop I would like it to play to the actual end of the audio recording. How can I achieve this ?

I'm new to Ableton Live - I don't understand the difference of use between session view clips and the looper ? What would you use each for differently ?
