Re: 'Editing Max for Live Devices'
Some minutes later I tried another time, and now after a kind of initial freezing, that means after two minutes or so, just in the moment I wanted to kill Live, the Patcher window poped up. Mysterious, horst AFAIK Max is doing some one-time initialization on the first start. Hopefully it will not b...

Re: Do i need to upgrade to max 6
So in other words, there is no upgrade path from Standard Live8+M4L(Max5) to Standard Live9+M4L(Max6) ? I'll clarify this question tomorrow morning. The FAQ does not give a clear answer yet. Ralf If you own Live 8 Standard and Max for Live, and you upgrade to Live 9 Standard, then you can use Max f...

Re: where do i put .amxd files?
(I wish that wasn't the case and you could store them relative to the location of your set). If you "collect and save" the set, the .amxd files (from the places selected in the shown dialog) which are used in your set are copied into the project containing the set, with a relative link, s...

Re: Live 8.2.2 out now
Liking the new M4L features, but I'm sad that a lot of the earlier patches can't find the parameter destinations any more (e.g. 3X Parameter Sequencer). Ah well, the price of progress 8) This is something to explore. Unless the patch is based on one of the fixed misbehavior bugs there should be no ...

Re: Audio Unit parameter visibility.. bug or feature ?
Looks like a bug to me. I would at least expect that the parameter configuration is saved in the preset. It is not at the moment. Ralf For the AU presets, Live is using the standard ".aupreset" format which does not allow to save these assignments. So that is the reason why it doesn't wor...

Re: check out the schwarzonator
I was deeply impressed by this clever tool made by Henrik because it implements a fundamental paradigm in an explicite and open way as never before(*): the separation in a musical instrument of harmony and melody. Look, the scale selector is automatable, so, you could select the harmonies with the l...

Re: Device that worked in beta not working in shipping build.
We have reproduced the issue with the "id id". It happens after deleting/moving devices. We are looking for a fix. We could not yet reproduce the crash. Halsey, would you please send a crash log to bugs@ableton.com with a reference to this thread (or give me a reference if you already sent...

Re: Device that worked in beta not working in shipping build.
So, could you please tell me what you see in the Max Window?stringbot wrote: Correct.
But if I hit the "edit" button and choose an item from the "device" menu in the Max programming environment, the parameter menu populates as expected.
Thanks,
Ralf

Re: Device that worked in beta not working in shipping build.
I downloaded the patch today and found the same behavior - the device menu populates but the parameter menu does not in Live, but in Max everything seems to work as it should. I'm on a Mac. You clicked the refresh button, then choose a device, but the parameter menu stays empty. Did I understand th...

I have testet that LiveFO patch, could not reproduce the "id id" issue.tempus3r wrote:Another user has reported the exact same behavior ....
But I've added an assertion to the debug version of the software,
so we'll see it if it happens again.

Re: step by step how to build audio effect?
The point with MFL was that it was easier than Max Msp. If I knew I had to learn this first, I would not have bought MFL. After spending the 15 minutes with the video at max4live.info, you could consider to modify an existing device instead of building a new one from scratch. The lessons delivered ...
