Re: Novation SL49 mk II still a good deal?

I liked my Mini MKIII, but my big issue is that a couple of the buttons were hard-wired to Live's Session view (record for instance) and I use arrangement view nearly all the time.

Just in general, try to get the sound right at record time rather than "fix it in the mix".

Re: Audio interface and CPU Load

The latest MOTU stuff is pretty amazing. But you can track without latency using just about any interface if you monitor from the interface.

Re: Plugin issue Live 11

Odd. Looks like something got corrupted during the install. I'd go download it and do a clean install if the problem doesn't cure itself. There may be another way to refresh the install if you look around.

Re: Major Problems With Live 11

Just chiming in with some perhaps pertinent info. 11 has been just as efficient for me as 10 with one HUGE exception which was actually plug-in related. When I switched from Kontakt 6.2.1 to a higher version (can't remember which), things trotted along fine for a while, then all of a sudden--huge CP...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support

The fact that it runs so well on Rosetta 2 makes it a less urgent matter no doubt. I disagree. Ableton 11 running on Rosetta 2 uses way too much CPU. I ended up buying Logic because it runs natively. It’s a hassle to learn a new DAW, but I have no other choice. That being said, Ableton is my favori...

Re: Clip Gain Design and Track Volume Design [DISCUSSION]

In general, I've grown accustomed to entering values via computer keyboard rather than finesse the rather small controls. That said, I'd love a more configurable track header. For instance, I generally set and input or output once, then never again. Subsequently, those are just in the way. But I can...

It says they’ve optimized some FX but that’s it. What were you hoping for?

Re: USB Volume

You'd think there would be a utility from Yamaha. On my MX88 there isn't, but there is a setting in the firmware for the interface volume.

Re: in arrangement view i want my track info on left

Trust us. This has been discussed for ever. But yes, it does run counter to learned behavior if you've used other DAWs. Then again, for someone who just wants to dig in and start dragging instruments and clips to the timeline it makes perfect sense. It prioritizes the arrangement part of the process...

Pre-roll for new users

I'm sure most experienced users know this, but it's something I happened upon accidentally though it's probably in the user's guide and I didn't read it thoroughly enough. That was quite awhile ago, but I was just using it and thought I'd bubble the knowledge to the top. If you set the punch-in to s...
