I think there was a command in ClyphX (Pro?) for that, unfortunately it don`t work with Live 11. But you can have a fixed length Clip with Push... For me, undo on Push 2 does exctly this...
But only direct after recording.

I wonder if you have checked "select on launch" in the preferences?
I am not at my music PC, so I cannot try it out, but maybe it can help?

You won´t have to uninstall and you will keep your Live10. There will be two versions of ableton, but tied together.
