Tracks for song saves as alp.als instead of just .als

Hi, I'm doing an album and all of the songs save as (Song Name).als instead of one which saves as (Song Name).alp.als----I'm not sure why this is. I know .alp stands for Ableton Live Pack and .als stands for Ableton Live Set, but I have no idea how the .alp even happened. Will the .alp.als song expo...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

Good points. I will try the things you mentioned. Thanks again, Stromkraft.

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

One more thing I was thinking---do you think disabling the warp feature on the audio tracks could help the problem? I guess I could try it and see, I was just thinking that playing everything that way might help maintain a consistent tempo. I know I would have to re-record the audio tracks, but if i...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

You're probably right, Stromkraft. I use a Lenovo all-in-one computer and it does pretty well in most regards, so maybe it's the interface or a program glitch. I just don't want to start everything over from scratch. The CPU load meter never goes over 25%, so I don't think it's the computer. Thank y...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

I was having trouble recording something but it was a driver issue that I figured out. My problem is still the arbitrary tempo changes---I can work around it by constantly changing the tempos until they sound correct each time I record (which isn't the biggest deal since I'm used to it), but I'm mos...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

You're right and I apologize. It's just so frustrating-----I really do appreciate your thoughts and help. Thank you and thanks to everyone for all the help---there is a solution, I just need to find it.

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

I really do appreciate your help, but I play music the old fashioned way (not that you don't) and just need the program for drums and orchestral strings. For instance, I tried to record a track and even though the levels were reading, the track didn't record. I'm not the least bit interested in the ...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

Thanks for your replies, Stromkraft. For me, Hardware Setup is under Options>Preferences>Audio in Ableton and is directly beneath Channel Configuration. I guess that does refer to the audio interface (which, in my case, is a Scarlett Focusrite). In Hardware Setup, I have an "Always Resample 44100<->...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

Should I unclick the Always Resample 44.1k to 48k box in Hardware Settings in Ableton Preferences? I thought about that before, but all the videos I watched about the best setup said to have that box clicked. I have everything else I can think of set to 48000---please let me know what you think.

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

Thanks to everyone for the replies. My sample rate is 48000 in preferences and is set to always resample 41000 to 48000 (and vice versa) in my soundcard settings. After a bit of research, the consensus was that those are the best settings, but could it be a possible culprit? Also, I haven't quantize...

Re: Tempo Changes for No Reason

It actually sounds slower (I know how fast the groove should be and it actually is audibly slower sometimes when I reopen it). That is the strangest part---when it sounds slower you would think the track would end at 3:05 or something instead of 3:00 but it doesn't. It defies all logic. I don't know...

Tempo Changes for No Reason

Hi, The tempo is changing on my tracks when I when I reopen Ableton Live 9 Suite. For instance, if I have a track set at 80 bpm that lasts 3 minutes, I reopen it later and it sounds 2 to 3 bpm slower even though the track is still at 80 bpm and lasts 3 minutes. It is quite frustrating and I've tried...
