Running stereo tracks live + in-ear click? Interface?
Hi there, I'm looking for an inexpensive audio interface solution that would allow me to run multi-channel audio in a live scenario. I'd like to send a stereo mix to the house of the main outs (1/2), and then a cue mix for my in-ear monitoring setup using separate channels, headphone out or 3/4. Ide...

Confused what you are trying to accomplish. Are you talking about just for installing them? It shouldn't take two days to just install...

Re: How do you organize your projects/sets?
I do this and it works fine for me: ProjectName_SongName_vMainVersion.IncrementalVersion_Date_Time MainVersion = big changes IncrementalVersion = minor tweaks (in other words looks like v2.4 for example) I will sometimes add brief information of the change like "NoGuitars" or "Extende...

Re: War Horns
Yes sounds like you just need to EQ them to stand out. Learn how to do spectrum analysis of the frequencies in question... Add an EQ Eight effect. Make sure the Analyze mode is turned on. Notch, bell, shelve, or pass according to the frequencies that are most or least common in the spectrum. Do the ...

Re: Prevent reading Pedal data (64)
I run into a similar issue but AFAIK the only solution I've found is to manually delete the pedal automation data in the envelopes section, one by one. Tedious and annoying but I don't think there's another way. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

Re: Why I prefer Pro Tools for mixing instead of Ableton Live
I definitely prefer to track/write in Ableton by far because it feels more intuitive for the creative process to me; but I agree, nothing beats ProTools at mixing which is where it really shines. When I finish a song I typically bounce and take it over into PT to mix/finish.

Boosting higher ohm headphones on MacBook? DAC or Amp?
Hi there, I own a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-880's, 250 ohm edition. When I'm working out of my home studio my interface's headphone out appears to amplify the signal just fine. However, when I take my travel rig out and plug directly into my MacBook Pro's headphone out, the signal is significantly qui...

Re: Change Orchestral Trills from Half Step to Whole Step etc
That I know of these are all based on actual samples of half-step trills... I suppose you could cheat one of the other standard playing samples such as the legato packs and add some sort of pitch LFO to alternate the pitch to a trill-like setting and try to find the sweet spot of where a whole step ...

Re: Workaround for organizing FAVORITE samples & instruments?
 Mholloway says that they dont like tagging systems. Well thats probably because "tagging" is a terrible descriptive model of an attribute based filtration system. "Tagging" is shitty. Think instead of attributes. Everything has attributes. Look around you, everything y...

Re: Workaround for organizing FAVORITE samples & instruments?
I use the User Library and create folders inside it as needed, much as you do, but not to the same degree of, uh, organizational agony. I despise tag-based systems and have no idea why people want or like them. I think tagging is far more tedious / extra-work-creating than simply dragging and dropp...

Workaround for organizing FAVORITE samples & instruments?
Hi there, Curious what everyone else does to organize loads of samples but also identify, tag, or bookmark favorites? As of writing, Ableton still lacks a proper system of tagging and bookmarking. Live 10 added the "collections" pane but IMHO it doesn't go deep enough to make it very useab...

Re: Possible to make plugins always remember MIDI control info?
Depending on your keyboard/controller, the MIDI "Control Surface" funcction is designed for exactly what you are asking but it is designed to be "automatic" no matter what you add in... You can create default parameter maps for VST instruments so they load with the same control ...

Possible to make plugins always remember MIDI control info?
Hi there, I have a couple MIDI controllers but I've been a little annoyed that every time I open a new instrument or effect, whether it's Ableton or 3rd Party, I have to "teach" the variables I frequently wish to control from which knobs or buttons on my controller. For example, if I load ...

Re: How can I map a macro control to a midi note in piano roll ?
Sure you totally can. Right click the macro knob you wish to affect, select "Edit Midi Map," strike whatever key you wish to map it to on the keyboard. Exit midi map mode and voila! By default the setting would be on/off, so basically 0-127 and 127-0. Hope that helps.
