At least allow any number of Collections, and allow nested folders inside of them. That would enable creating the desired folder structure manually.

Re: More collection colors?
+1. More collections. Abandon the colors entirely and have nested folders. That would be much more useful than a flat set of only a few colors.

Re: Ableton, It's time....
Look what happened to Reason, you have to innovate but also compete with the other options that might entice your users to leave. Well stated, especially this point. Reason should be a motivator for what not to become. Live has to compete with the other DAWs in terms of features for recording and c...

This would be great. Cubase still has it today and it's called a Shared Copy. In Logic it's an Alias/Clone.

Re: MIDI Envelope Recording
Try checking two things. First, disable the Automation Arm button if it is on. Second, check the midi bindings using the MIDI button. If there's anything listed on the list of bindings on the left side of the screen that looks suspicious, delete it.

Re: What are the most realistic guitar sounds available ?
If you have a real electric guitar available then using a software amp/cab plugin will sound best. You’ll also need the an instrument (“Hi-Z”) jack to connect the guitar to on your audio interface. If your interface doesn’t have one then you can get a DI box to connect with. For the software plugin,...

Re: Using presonus plugins in Live 10
You also need to download the PreSonus Hub, I think it’s called. Even if you have Studio One 4 Professional, it doesn’t automatically install the VST plugins. You need to go into your PreSonus account and get the Hub software to install the VST plugins.

Re: How to normalize a recorded audio?
In lieu of Live adding a normalize function in the future, here are two ideas. First is to use an external audio editor. Set the external editor to the program of your choice in Live’s options and open the clip in it. Then normalize it there. However, I think that is destructive. Izotope RX7 Element...

Re: Throwing down the gauntlet - teaching a rookie
The first challenge is getting the recordings from everyone. Maybe you’ve already solved this? Below is what I would do. What’s most critical is that the recordings that choir members send you are in time with each other. The way to solve this is to send everyone the accompaniment track, and have th...

The tutorials at Groove3.com are excellent. I’d sign up for a 7 day free trial and view the Ableton Live 10 Explained videos and see if that’s enough to get you going. Tack on a 1 month subscription after if you need more time to view the training there.

Re: Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch fan noise with Ableton
It’s definitely a concern. It means Live is taxing the system heavily. That shouldn’t be happening upon initial load of a DAW with an empty project open. I had the same issue with my MBP, although recently it seems to have stopped. Perhaps Live was doing indexing for a long period of time, which fin...

Re: How Do I Convert Piano Sounds to MIDI?
The XS8 has a USB port on the back that transfers MIDI. Download and install the USB MIDI driver from Yamaha and connect the piano to the computer using a USB cable. Then the piano can be used as a MIDI controller within Live.
