Re: Splitting/dividing midi notes

In FL, I found it very tedious having to change tools every time to select a note, new tool to draw a note, new tool to delete a note. Ableton pretty much can do all of this with standard select tool. A chop function would be cool in Ableton, but I get by with draw tool and ability to quickly chang...

Re: AI implementation for Live 11?

I guess it's better to keep it third party considering Ableton's miserable feature update pace.

Re: MIDI Clips follow Time Signature Changes in Arrangement View!

+1 It's not a mistake. Live started as an live performance tool and it's intended and important for this purpose. But I found that this can be frustrating working with lots of time signature changes. There should be an option or check box or something so users can toggle global time signature vs cli...

No dead easy way. But explore draw mode, and using grooves for velocity. Not arguing with the idea. There could be more MIDI functions.
I started to wonder what kind of music you make with Live and how many hours you've actually spent on it.

Re: Strum Effect

well, it's not the right thread to continue this discussion but..
Live already has draw tool, doesn't it? I don't think it will be against the current behaviour. I agree to the point to keep away from having bunch of tools. Using a modifier + right click might be a good option.

use an audio effect rack with two chains. dry and reverb.
automate the volume of "dry" chain.

Velocity transform

10.1 introduced transform of automation(envelop) points. and it will be useful to do the same with velocity values.
Sometimes I'd like to make a ramp keeping the relative values and there is no easy way for this. I have to manually tweak every note.

Re: Strum Effect

Use the stretch markers in the detail editor. Easy. Both your suggestions indicate that perhaps you should spend a bit more time with the very well written users guide. good tip, but still not easy if you want to trim the end. this is the point where a knife tool or note split command can be useful.

Re: Fix scroll speed & alt+scroll vertical zoom in piano roll

I wouldn't say it's an issue, but an option for it would be useful.

+1 for alt+scroll to vertical zoom

also middle click and drag to pan around.

Re: CPU overload with maximum 50%

The percentage in the task manager takes multiple core into account, which means you won't see any program hitting 100% if it's not using all cores of the CPU. Audio processing can't be done full parallel, so it can bottleneck on a single core, and this is likely to be your case. Your setup is prett...

Re: Seriously considering switching from AMD to Intel. I really need some advice from you guys!

Not a recommended solution but overclocking might help. I'm using 1700 and can't handle large projects without OCing. One caveat when choosing a CPU for audio production is that more core does not mean more performance. Ableton's multicore utilisation heavily depends on how tracks are routed. Check ...

Re: Visible groove snap / quantizing in arrangement view.

+1 This is gonna be amazing Create a long clip. Fill it with the appropriate note type, typically 16th notes. Select and apply the groove you want to the clip, then use that clip as a reference. Could've sworn I posted this earlier. Not saying no to the suggestion. Referencing to the clip means lini...

Re: I have made a mistake selecting Ableton

It's difficult sometimes. This first post, sorry, looks a hell like trolling. true Ableton has a huge support team and it is known for its great efficiency. They took a good care of all the support I needed . But it always takes so long to get an answer.... two weeks was too much for a huge and eff...

Re: I have made a mistake selecting Ableton

Ableton does have some weird bugs or behaviours specific to machine. My GX49 occasionally stucks only in Live but the retailer couldn't reproduce it so I couldn't get it fixed Sheesh this kind of response is the least helpful to the forum. i get the words behind though Ableton support is awefully sl...
