Re: Multiple MIDI CC to control one Parameter
This can work, as long as you use this with a virtual midi port, like IAC bus on Mac. Good Point. I remember that's how I'd tested it. Otherwise, I wrote a M4L device once, called "mille plateaux" that let's you take snapshots of a parameter and distribute them across a knob. It's clumsy,...

Re: Is there a way to trigger chords via midi knob?
This is do-able with M4L. You need to reassign MIDI in the patch so when you send CC messages they get reconfigured to send Note messages instead: Say it's CC1: While you're pressing softly and it's a CC value of say 0-20, you only send a Note On message for the root of the chord (say C) When you're...

Re: midi channel filter
ive put the external instrument on a midi track but when I try and add a instrument plugin after it the external instrument disappears. how do I get the midi channel conversion into the instrument? You'll need two separate MIDI Tracks, one with your instrument loaded in it (let's say Operator), and...

Re: Multiple MIDI CC to control one Parameter
It might be a better approach to use CC controls for this, since you want to control just one parameter (Beat Repeat Grid Divisions) Assign a specific CC message to the grid... Let's say CC1 for discussion sake: In your Max4Live patch, you can now assign your buttons (say F0 to A0) to modify the val...

Re: Using looper audio effect to place on clip
I'm not sure I totally understand the issue but if you're trying to record the looper channel audio onto clips, perhaps you can feed that audio into a new track next to it which is always listening to it and record the clips on there?

Re: performing a song live
On the longer speech samples you could put it as one long clip on the beginning scene where you want to trigger it and then remove the stop buttons on empty clipslots below where you want it to keep playing.

I don't know the exact situation but I think Follow Action on an empty clip might help in this case?

Re: Using M4L in a live performance?
Oh for sure it's not really a Max thing, I was just commenting on the weirdness of gigs. They really don't seem to have much correlation to what happens in rehearsals. The words "what the hell is happening? This never normally does this!!" always seem to come to mind ;-) But yes, a factor...
