One thing you can do is pan a track all the way left or right, send it to return track, rreverse the pan on the return using Utility, and then add delay to the return. This creates a stereo effect.

Yeah rpmchallenge is really worthwhile. I think there were like 3000+ participants in '08. No prizes, but it is a great thing to push you to finish a project, and a real sense of accomplishment to get it done.
