Re: Chords in Timeline like Cubase

Wow that is very cool!! I love the Melodyne integration!! This would be a game changer in piano roll like a super advancement. Being able to explode the chords to match a lane with melodic information would be awesome! Having basic Melodyne integration on the audio lanes would be a game changer. The...

Re: Ableton Live Hidden Feature - Show Devices on the Mixer!

I find it incredibly strange that they would think that someone mixing wants to switch between lanes just to see what plugins are active on the lanes. Having the feature to allow you to globally see all assigned plugins on a lane makes perfect sense. When you are mixing and finalizing your project i...

Ability to see what plugins are on each lane

There is a option tweak that allows you to do this, but there's something buggy about it. It will sometimes not reveal the plugins in the lane just a dot. Also it does not remain turned on it turns off and you have to reselect it to reveal the plugins by lane. It would be nice if this was just built...

Audio Note Detection by lane

It would be so nice to be able to have the ability to tell what key a loop is in without guessing. The tuner is not accurate on music that has alot of things happening. It would be nice for each lane to just have built in ability to detect the key that the music is in.. this would be a game changer ...

Drum Rack Midi Tracks

It would be great to leave the drum rack track lanes with the same functionality as a regular midi track. You can't get into piano roll mode to change the key position of notes. This makes dealing with the audio in these lanes impossible. If you extract the chains it still acts like it's part of the...

Re: The chance of zero latency
Recode what exactly and how to match which standards that you refer to specifically? Seems like a pretty generic/vanilla suggestion It's one thing to throw out a suggestion, but another to have some useful substance to it. Why not just say "recode ableton from the ground up to work on ...

Importing Stems

Hi, I am working with remixes and I wish there was a menu item for importing files that has the settings to turn off the auto-warp long loops and turn off the Create fades on clip edges automatically. In other DAWS they allow you to select the folder with the files and it automatically creates the a...

Re: The chance of zero latency

The basic way computers operate hasn’t changed that much in decades - the hardware has got faster and more efficient and the software often better optimised, but until and unless quantum computing becomes a usable thing we’re stuck with the technological approach we have. I think there are ways aro...

Re: Latency from master track effect plugins

I was having this issue as well with the master. I found it to be a real issue for me when working with waves and UAD plugins. I ended up doing something totally strange with my setup. I converted my audio setup over to LUNA and am using it as a console. This allows me to use the realtime engine to ...

Re: Workflow Question: managing audio from external instruments

Hi, This is soo funny I have been thinking about this alot lately as well. I am using alot of external instruments as well and at first I thought it was cool to just create a group which contained a midi and audio track. I would then add this to my default template, but wow after adding 8-9 of those...

Re: Mediocre Ableton performance on new iMac 2020?

I bought a brand new iMac to improve the performance with Ableton Live, and to be honest, the observable difference is disappointingly minimal. I've done comparisons opening and running the exact same project on both my new and old system and the difference is marginal in both time for openi...

Re: The chance of zero latency

Again nothing is impossible that's limited thinking. I think it will require someone to see outside the problem and come up with a solution that will resolve it. It's just curious because computer hardware is ahead of software. The things that existed 20 years ago as hardware limitations no longer e...

Re: The chance of zero latency

Nothing is impossible... Apple figured it out. No they didn't. They don't claim zero latency on their website. Where did you see this? It is basically latency free And therefore it is not zero latency  True they don't directly claim that it is, but from my testing and trying to get it to perf...

Re: The chance of zero latency
Impossible but it is totally possible to have minimal latency that isnt interfering with performance. Focusrite Scarletts do decently for me but I'm sure there is better stuff out there if you spend more and do better research. Low latency has more to do with audio interface than Ableton any...
