Re: PRODUCT CONCEPT: Ableton Device Control
Regarding the price, in my mind this should not be a super-cheap device. Instead focus should be on materials, integration and tactile feel. I would personally spend 800 euro on it (especially if it had a cast aluminium housing) but a reasonable price may be something like the Rocksolid SSL Midi co...

Re: LOW LATENCY MODE --- WHY ISNT THIS ALREADY A FEATURE?!?!?!
A low latency mode is essential, especially if you are working with electronic drum kits triggering internal vsts/samples or recording mic'd up instruments. Yes you can go through the process of freezing, rendering down channels and such but that not only sucks up time, it often leads to little erro...

Re: Who uses Live with a live band? What tips can you give me?
We are just starting to use Ableton Live in our four-piece band (guitar/bass/drums, all four sing). We use it in Session view on a MacBook Pro and through a Focusrite 18i20 to our PA system. Each song has at least one scene and the drummer controls it using it a Yamaha DTX-M12. AL is multifunction ...

Re: the ultimate "I love Ableton BUT..." thread
If you want that type of mixer view, then go for reason. Ableton was primarily designed to be a tool for performers to be able to perform their tracks live, without the overhead and cluttered look of other DAWS. You can click on a track and see all the relevant information pertaining to that track, ...

Re: Building My Home Studio....
That should do you nicely. Clean power running via a consumer unit up there would be a big plus. Also see if you can get as many sockets as possible, dot them around the studio mid room height if possible :) Doing the acoustics for it might be a bit of a mare, but you can go a long way with plenty ...

He loves his Korg Kaoss pads. Of which contain most of the types of effects he uses and he utilises these live to change things up a tad

Re: HELP - DIY Acoustics + ROOM arrangement - Limited OPTIONS
My quick suggestion would be to put that sofa on the back wall where the windows are if at all possible? Would give you more room on and around the sides to put those cabinets and also perhaps build some custom units to fit so that you can later add in keyboards and other instruments and have space ...

Re: Bitwig 1.0
If they want to pull the rug from under Ableton's feet, all they need to do is implement PDC properly, allow scene follow actions and put a crossgrade price on it of about £99 for early adopters. If they done that and bumped the price up after the first 3 days, with the new early adopters giving mor...

Re: Music, sampling, copyright issues
When DJ'ing in a club or at a festival, the owners/people running the even pay a license fee which covers the people they have performing when using other people's tracks. So this means cabaret acts/cover acts/dj's are all covered to perform the songs in that venue. You are not however supposed to c...

Yup, can be done that way although I would suggest getting a tidy interface with enough ins and outs to support your needs.

How are you finding the Subpac?
Been looking at those and they look very nice. Have you tried it in a live situation yet?

sinkysaurus, I am not sure why you said that 102455 is a moron. Considering he was one of the first to chime in with a point that is relative to ALL musical styles. Your reply was uncalled for and quite childish. The problems you have can't be solved by just limiting and compressing or turning the f...

Yup quiet, but as said, probably due to either the English, drowning their sorrow's or the Welsh drinking in celebration haha.
