Hotswapping Samples in Context

I'm half posting this because I'm hoping this is already doable and I am missing something but, hotswap. When working in, say a Drum Rack and in hotswap mode, not being able to preview the samples from the browser in the context of the part makes this feature really lackluster. The only advantage it...

Fixed Error - Tony Abbott … No!

A little upbeat something I did on the current downer state of politics in Australia. This is a parody! Also this the first video I've ever made…

YES! They are all wirelees. I'd like to see that thread. So wireless mice do not work with Live? Surely not.

Nousewheel doesnt work in Live 8.2.6

So since updating to Live 8.2.6 I cant get the mouse wheel to work in Live at all. Its most annoying when fishing around for sounds in the file browser. No idea whats going on. I've tried 3 different mice and the same thing happens. And I should point out that the each of them works perfectly fine i...

Re: Studio One is leaving Ableton in the dust.

I do find it interesting that people are talking up Bitwig so much on the basis of one features page and no beta release. Keep in mind that Bitwig have responded that they don't have the resources to answer peoples enquiries about their software even now. From what I hear there's but a few people wo...

Re: lots of crashes since upgrade to 8.2.6

Most crashes in Live tend to come from third-party plugins. Whenever I've made something with Live's plugins only its solid as a rock. But most of use other plugins. I also use Cubase and I have FAR MORE crashes due to plugins in Live than I do in Cubase.

Yes it would be most useful. It looks like you already have EZPlayer Pro. Couldn't that already do what you need?

Re: 64BIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not belittling Ableton for not making Live 8 64-bit. Agreed, 2 years ago 64bit just wasn't quite there yet. But am I am expecting that Live 9 will be, which is what I think most people her are trying to get at. If it is not, then I will have to go back to Cubase 6 (which I already own) and I wil...

Re: 64BIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

FWIW,
I've found that Cubase 6 runs great in 64-bit (have only used it on a Mac though). At work, we have a template loaded with 12GB of sounds. Its awesome - I never have to trawl around for sounds. C'mon Ableton!!

Re: 64BIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'd just like to go ahead and request the 128 bit version first. since that's what everyone will HAVE TO HAVE in order to make music next. thanks, ~ H20 I see your point but it overlooks the fact that many of us have a real need to address more than 4GB RAM. I am finding it very difficult to finish...

Re: improve your sound quality

I would best testing these supposedly poor mixes on as many systems as possible. If they sound good elsewhere then it is your monitoring environment that is the problem. And if that is the case, what your doing to them is not necessarily a good thing. On a side note, if you're an iTunes user, iTunes...

Re: seems like not a lot of movie composer

I seriously doubt James Horner did Avatar in Ableton. We use Ableton for some aspects of film scoring - but generally always synced as a rewire slave to cubase. I find the Video playback to be quite sluggish in comparison. Its great for making percussion beds and and sound design elements. Also the ...
