TLDR is that if you map stuff with the Expression Control device and close your project, you'll lose those mappings the next time you open the project. Can we get a fix for this sometime within the next millennia? Thanks.

Max4live is definitely an unstable implementation of Max. If you've not run into issues with it, you most likely have never used it to any extent beyond tinkering with a device or two in isolation.
