Re: New iMac or Wait?? Apple vs. Intel

I've be doing lots of homework on the=us as well and the advice I was given is hold out for the M1 chip.

youve had you imac for 10 years, and as I understand it future versions of Ableton will not be compatible with Intel processing for as long as the Apple silicon

USB 3.0 Cable Length - Glitches

Performed a strange trouble shoot today, system is: Motu 8A Macbook Pro 2015 2.8Ghz Quad Core I plugged a new USB 3.0 cable which was 5 meters long instead of the one meter cable provided by the manufacturer. Ableton started glitching like nothing else. Changed the cable back and everything was fine...

Re: Ableton 11: Assign Macro Variations to a Macro or make it automateable

Im thinking the same here - I would really like to be able to launch macro variations at scene launch, it doesn't seem like this is possible.

Re: Live Set - Machine Spec

Amazing thank you, I will play around with the buffer size - there might be something in this random 'glitches' which come from a buffering problem instead of a CPU issue. Let's see what happens. I have clearly been confusing the terms of CPU and RAM as synonymous - so thank you for clearing that up...

Re: Live Set - Machine Spec

Thanks for your reply and your advice so far, let me get a bit more specific for you. Each Sketch or Group is made up of 8 tracks. 3 of those 8 tracks will be made up of drum machines and then the rest will be either analog or operator. Every plugin i use i native to Ableton. In terms of efficiency ...

Live Set - Machine Spec

Hi, Just calling out to see if anyone doing similar can help advise me on a laptop Upgrade. Currently Running Mac Book Pro 15" Mid 2015 16gb Ram 2.8 Ghz Quad Core My live set is quite CPU intensive as it is important to me to not bounce to audio - I essentially want to emulate having a load of hardw...

Using 2 Push Units at once

I have two Push units - one Push 1 and one Push 2. Can I set it up so they both navigate ableton at the same time? At the moment they both navigate the same functions. This article says no :( https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209071969-Push-1-Using-two-Push-1-units-simultaneously Thanks for...

How do you copy clip automation between tracks in arrangement view

on the surface this is a simple one, how do you copy clip automation between tracks in arrangement view. I have clips on track 1 with automation data saved on to macros. As I drag the clip across I am wondering why when I drop it into a new track the automation data disappears. There’s probably a re...

Re: Session View Automation

Yeh solution was simple.....just press select and then press the clip in push.

Having said that I would still love to find out if there is some way for the automation values to remain after the automation clip has stopped
