Re: beginner questions about poly synths
You don't really need an engineer brain, but it is helpful to do some research on the type of synth you want to build. A lot of synth designs are based on having voices (think all objects inside a poly~) which can contain everything such as VCO (osc) > VCF (filter) > VCA (amp), as well as the respec...

Re: beginner questions about poly synths
The poly~ object is the way to go, but it is impossible to provide a clear answer to your question without seeing a patch (easiest) or some kind of schematic. I would also suggest posting your question on the max forums. As a general pointer, poly~ loads up a patcher and the number of voices defines...

Re: Doubling time value of composition
Using stretch is one way, another is to go to clip view and use the /2 or *2 buttons. Main drawback is if you have lots of tracks, then it could get time consuming as you have to do each clip individually.

Re: Step sequencer similar to sh101, pro-one etc.
I was looking for a similar thing a while back, and i may end up coding something in max... but along the way i came across this and i decided to sack off coding for soldering: http://mutable-instruments.net/anushri this groove box really is a lot of fun, although it doesn't quite have the same func...

Re: Custom Waves in Operator
I'll add a bit more... The lines to the left are the lower harmonics, and to the right you have the upper harmonics. Generally speaking, the highest bar along the x axis describes the fundamental of the sound (the main pitch) and the other bars represent the harmonics of the sound (these are usually...

Re: Midi beat repeat M4L plugin...
Interesting device! I've not had time to test it out, but from what i have read it controls the clip loop parameters within live. If this is the case, then you could try to set a clip to legato mode and use that as your "original" loop. I'll admit this is a blind guess, but its worth a sho...

Re: Fixed Length Behaviour - let user set value!
Well despite all the workarounds i still think its worth having, so i may have to look into the scripts when i get some free time.lo.key wrote:or, indeed, create a number of empty 6 bar clips beforehand, and play into them with overdub. ;D Or else dive into the python script, it must be in there somewhere ;|

Re: Fixed Length Behaviour - let user set value!
Ah ok, i misunderstood (my bad). However, its still not ideal as you would have to stop the clip and re-adjust after recording. Personally, I still think it would be better if user could specify before recording and then you can let that clip roll whilst you work on the next part. Its a more fluent ...

Re: Fixed Length Behaviour - let user set value!
There are two ways around this with Push: a) don't use the fixed lengh button b) use the fixed lengh button, record your 6 bars into an 8 bar clip, press Clip and adjust the clip lengh to 6 bars Thanks, but i know how to get around it already. My point is this should be possible with Push, without ...

Fixed Length Behaviour - let user set value!
Currently the fixed length button lets you specify the length of the recorded clips by pressing the corresponding buttons below the text display area. However, there is no way for the user to specify length beyond the options provided (1 beat, 2 beat, 1 bar, 2 bar, 4 bar). For instance, I wanted 6 b...

Re: Group Clips are invisible in Session View on Push :(
Hi folks, I have a group of tracks and I can trigger the group clips from the Push in session mode as normal but I cant see them. Its as if I can launch clips that are invisible so sometimes I accidentally stop the clips by pressing 1 pad too low making the whole track stop. Please help! As a worka...

Re: Any way to make a custom push scale
I doubt that's possible as the microtonal tuning needs to be applied at the instrument level. Also Midi is integer values only, no decimals.
