Recording a band live with Live getting a wobbling sound?

I have been recording a 4 piece band live with Live. My set up is a Mackie Onyx 16 channel firewire board out to a iMac24. We use 14 channels to record. My problem I am having is that the recording has a hard to explain issue. Sounds like phasing,wobble sound is going on. What could cause this? Any ...

Yes, using ASIO tried playing with the latency and still having delays getting from the stage to the fronts.

Hopefully someone can help me out. The problem we are having is using Live 6 for the FOH Sound. Equipment, Mackie 1640 onyx firewire board going directly to an Imac 24. There is a delay issue say when the drummer hits the kick drum, the sound is delayed about 1/2 second before it comes ...

I am looking to record the band I work with and get some decent recordings and then go from there .I was hoping the iMac(i am on a budget) would handle the 16 mono tracks that i am trying to record.The iMac is the 24 2.8g,320hd 7200rpm 4g ram and also an external 320hd firewire ...

Apple I Mac

I am thinking of getting one of the I Mac's.I have the mackie onyx 1640 mixing board with firewire with an external 320hd.I m looking to record all 16 channels live with the onyx board. Any thoughts on the IMac handling this kind of load? Any help would be great on choosing my new computer.

I had a lot of problems with Live 6 where the audio would dropout every minute or two. It didn't matter if I was recording or not, or how many plug-ins I was using, or the number of tracks. The glitches were random.

I finally fixed it by disabling the power management features in the BIOS ...

My power scheme is set to Laptop. You suggets that I use the "Always On" mode?
I will turn on the "Always On".

About the drive space I am sending it to the external that has 320gb or does it still go thru my laptop drive first?

I am having problems with drop outs. I am using a Mackie 1640 onyx fire wire board trying to record 16 channels at once. The Mackie board has 2 firewire ports 1 going to my laptop the other going to external hard drive.

My system,

Compaq r3000 pentium 4- 2.80 GHz, 1.12 GB of RAM, 80 GB HARD DRIVE ...

Playback Drop outs

Thanks, I have tried the latency seems to makes no difference. The tracks were recorded in warped mode with beats chosen. I will try the complex mode as it does say it is for whole songs. I will try it this way and let you know how it came out. Any other suggestions?

Playback Drop outs

Can anyone help me with the problem I am having during playback.
It seems to record all 16 channels fine but when I play back I am getting drop outs.

I am using
P4 2.80GHZ
with a 320 gb 7200rpm lacie external hard drive
Mackie 1640 Onyx
Live 6.0.0
any suggestions
