Re: Push 2 default view/configuration (Session on, Mix on)

This is still a problem in Ableton Live 11.1. I don't know why it doesn't just save which views were active when you save a project, but if that's impossible, surely there could at least be a setting in Live to configure the default views. Every time I launch Ableton Live or switch projects, I have ...

Re: Ableton Live 11.1 - Stability, CPU, bugs and stuff...

Update: I got this working by: Rebooting my machine. This brought back the "Komplete Kontrol DAW - 1" device, which is the one that needs to be selected as the control surface Input and Output. That got the transport controls working, but I still couldn't navigate tracks/clips with the arr...

Re: Anyone else find the Push 2 unplayable?

I just wish aftertouch could play like Push 1's did. At the moment it's so-so when playing a single note and modulating, but as soon as you start playing legato, you often find yourself back to zero aftertouch if you hit the next pad at full velocity, with no way to modulate it from there without h...

Re: Controlling external synthesizers with Push 2?

I find it strange that that controlling external CC parameters from within Live is so tricky. Im yet to dive into max for live and see what devices may be available to help with this. However I feel Live should just be better at this natively. It seems like it would be extremely simple for the &quo...

Re: Push 2 default view/configuration (Session on, Mix on)

+1 Just got a Push 2 and don't like the fact that it insists on switching back to Clip/Note views every time I launch Ableton Live or create a new project. Why isn't this just saved with the default project when using "Save Current Set as Default"? Mix and Session views are clearly the mos...

Re: How to connect adapter to wall plug?

Just got a Push 2 and ran into the same problem. I had a lot of trouble getting the region adapter to fit into the socket. I've seen plenty of adapters like this before but this is the first one I've seen that needed such a strong push (ohhh okay, I see what they did there…).

Re: Ableton Push 3 update

The problem with the idea of a radically different Push 3 is it throws away years of development and feedback cycles invested in Push 1 and 2 (which are fundamentally the same, other than the much nicer display). People have spent years learning to use Push as the centerpiece of production in the st...

Re: Lock Midi In Port to Track / All Ins Except Used

I'm running into the same problem. I have a Roland System-8 assigned as the input for its own MIDI track, with monitor set to "On" so I can always play it no matter which track is record-enabled. As you said, though, this causes it to also play the currently selected track. To avoid that I...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

Reaper is nothing like Reason. It is waay more customizable. Probably more similar to Logic/Studio One. Reaper isnt the prettiest program but the look can be changed to look pretty nice. And v5 doesn't look halfway bad. V1 looked worse than a 90s DAW though. Yeah, I’m now convinced Reaper is not th...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

Considering that Reaper is still on version 5 I'm firmly convinced we are now in an alternate reality and I'm just being used as fuel in some Marix type dystopian nightmare! 8O Here's a Cockos list of jpgs of version 0 to 2. (this was the super ugly period, be warned!) http://reaper.fm/timewarp.php...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

I didn't really use it until 4, but I'm getting the impression you're mixing it up with Plogue Bidule maybe? I’ve never heard of Plogue Bidule (until now). I’m almost certain it was Reaper, because I remember the name struck me as suspiciously similar to Reason (and the concept of the app itself wa...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

The value is insane. Right now, you can 'demo' Reaper host Equator or Cypher 2 etc. and you get full MPE support rewired into Live. Not to mention the rest of Reaper as a package. I'm going to bet Reaper eventually comes out with a VST version after rewire disappears entirely, then we're stuck with...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

I've heard rumors that some of the new security features in Mac OS Catalina will break Rewire, this may have something to do with the change. This doesn't seem likely to be true. ReWire is just a protocol for apps to talk to each other that specific apps opt into by loading a shared library; the op...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

Rewire v1.8.7 build 145 So yeah, not 2.0. It gets installed by various apps, even Live will instal rewire into your system etc. It's not built in, as much as added to the instal. Some application I used installed an older version over the latest version for instance, which had me have to actually g...

Re: It;s a good time to be a Live & Reason user....

Having used the beta for a few days now, I think I have to concede they should have kept ReWire around, at least for now. The one downside of the Reason rack plugin is it's meant to be used as a single instrument (or effect chain, for the effect version). This means you need a separate instance of t...
