Re: Ableton folds when I close the VST window
Live version? OS? Do you close the VST window with the mouse or from a shortcut? It is happening with every VST or just one? Do you use Live fullscreen? etc... TLDR, help us helping you... 11.0.12 Windows 10 I close the VST with the mouse It happens with every VST, but not every single time I use b...

Re: Do LUFs standards really work?
You don’t have to use -14 LUFS. You can upload louder songs and YouTube will turn it down to -14LUFS on playback. If you then download the song, it will still be at the LUFS level it was when it was uploaded. Although YouTube themselves don’t allow direct download, so you’re also relying on whateve...

Do LUFs standards really work?
You have standards for differentplatforms, to which they will compress/decrease the loudness of your track.
For example, Youtube's ref level is 14 LUFs. But in fact, you download youtube song and see -9 LUFs there.
How is that?

Re: Why every single commercial song has stereo below 100 hz?
Exact same conclusion. I analyzed many reference songs these last years, from commercial stuff to indie, and I very rarely noticed mono lows. Sometimes it sounds better to clear the stereo in the lows, but most of the time it just makes the song less interesting (specially if the mix is great and t...

Why every single commercial song has stereo below 100 hz?
Like in every single tutorial you see that engineers vut low end side. But I've downloaded a hunnid tracks from streaming platforms to analyse them and all of them have side through all the frequency response. Does this happen due to converting algorythms or what?

A question for mixing engineers
Raw hip-hop beats have so punchy kicks, those do not compare to the kicks in final songs with vocals. Why do you flatten them so much? Do they really intefere with vocals that strongly? For example, compare the raw beat Gatti https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLuiPxbruIo to the final mix https://www.y...

Re: Midi 2.0 implementation in Ableton
Do not guess. MIDI 2.0 is fully backwards compatible to MIDI Version 1. I mean you can't use all the 4 billion levels, only 128 anyway Not with midi 1.0 hardware gear but you get improvements like greatly increased midi clock accuracy etc.. I personally can't wait for that 4 billion smoothing, but ...

Changing gain is non-linear. So what?
Can we really hear the differnces in the sounds been gained or ducked down? Are there any real cases that could happen? Can it also affect the processing of that sound in devices (considering the change in the actual waveform, not the volume that ofc will hit the compressor behavior) ? p.s. It does ...
