Re: Where is my MIDI drum kit?
Actually, it was a drum pattern that I picked somewhere from Ableton, NOT a drum kit.
So the question is: where are all the drum patterns stored in Ableton?
And the second question: since I probably changed the pattern a bit (suppressed maybe a snare here, added a hi-hat there, etc.), where can I ...

Where is my MIDI drum kit?
Hello everyone,
I opened a very old Ableton project and I quite like the drums I have there, but I can't seem to find WHERE I found them in the first place.
It's a MIDI drum kit as far as I can tell. When I click on the MIDI track title, I can see the drum kit at the bottom of the screen in the ...

Re: Volume change after bouncing
I’m actually listening to it in the same Ableton session. I sometimes do that because my CPU is struggling with too many effects and plug-ins. But I think I found the reason of my problem: my MASTER volume was set at minus 5; if you export any stem while the master volume is positive or negative ...

Hi RobrechtV,
"Normalize" is always unchecked when I bounce tracks.

Volume change after bouncing
Hi everyone,
When I export tracks one by one out of an Ableton session, some of the WAV files I get have exactly the same volume as the original tracks (no matter if they originally are midi or audio) and some DON’T. Usually those "volume-changed" stems have a lower volume. It’s quite annoying ...

Re: Routing problem
But now I have a new problem: my guitar is routed to out 4 without being routed to 1 and 2, which is good, but the sound isn't the same as when I routed it to 1 and 2.
The distorsion guitar doesn't sound the same at all, and I think it's simply a volume issue, because when routed to out 4 the ...

Re: Routing problem
Wow, yur2die4, I think you solved my problem!!
Those two sends are the automatic reverb and delay effects Ableton offers whenever you open a session, AND those two tracks are automatically routed to Master Out, so no wonder I was hearing my guitar playing.
Thank you!!

Hi Fishmonkey,
Thank you SO much for taking the time to answer me!
I had already done exactly what you suggest in your message. Here are a few screenshots to clarify things:

Routing problem
Hello everyone,
I use an Ableton session (session view) for my gigs and I have a simple soundcard (2 jack/XLR in, 4 jack out).
I'm routing my backing tracks to front of house in stereo via MAIN OUT 1 and 2 on my soundcard. I use LINE OUT 3 for an in-ear click.
Here is my question: I would like to ...

Imprecision while consolidating
Hi everyone,
Whenever I am editing my drums in WAV format, the consolidation tool often produces a slight shift to the right or to the left in the sound wave graphics.
Let's say the drums are precise on beats 1 to 4 but not perfect on beat 5. I then select beat 5, consolidate it, zoom in at the ...

Re: Plug-ins and processor
I see. Nevertheless, I use my machine among others to play my backing tracks on stage (I am on my own on stage) and I stick my guitar and my bass in my soundcard and apply effects to them through Ableton’s effect racks.

Re: Plug-ins and processor
Thanks to the three of you!
It definitely looks like it’s my CPU that’s not powerful enough.
So here is a last question for you: would you rather recommend buying a new PC laptop or changing my laptop’s processor? And if so, is it possible to change it on an HP laptop (I’ve heard those things can ...

Plug-ins and processor
Hello everyone,
Whenever I use plug-ins (not in-built Ableton effects but “from outside” plug-ins as Guitar Rig, etc.) within more than 5 or 6 tracks, my CPU starts going wild. When it reaches 40% to 60%, playing the song becomes a problem: tempo fluctuates, sounds are distorted, annoying ...
