Hi Sophia it looks to me like you have one too many nodes. All you really need to do is have a node in the middle and drag it up to make a triangle shape.

This looks sick AF and the live loops are very Ableton-esque.

With a MBP like that I doubt it's because of Live. Have you tried opening up your Activity Monitor in your utilities folder? Try that. Something else is running that is eating up all the CPU I guarantee it. Dropbox will do that for example. I have a 2016 MBP very similar to yours and Live runs fine ...

When recording an instrument is there any way to create take folders in Live? And to then be able to choose the best parts of each folder and combine them into one audio file?

That kind of sucks. I wonder if there is a plugin that does that.
