Re: DJ equipment suggestions for beginners.
The Behringer looks good. I wonder how much it will cost in comparison to the Traktor S2.
I am guessing the Behringer won't come with software.

DJ equipment suggestions for beginners.
Hey chaps, I have been working on a youth project with kids who want to DJ, and there are a couple of kids who would like to take it up and buy some gear. Do any of you have any equipment suggestions? There a few a few things that need to be considered: There are sadly no more vinyl shops where we l...

Re: WIn 7 visually set for best performance but performs worse.
Yes, I ususlly run it with all the graphic features on. It works fine like that.
I am just curious to know why it stutters in performance when the features are off, when it should actually run better.

WIn 7 visually set for best performance but performs worse.
Hey chaps,
Ableton on my laptop suffers from freezing and audio drop outs when visual effects are set for best performance (basic mode) in Windows 7.
It was the same also with Vista.
Just out of curiosity, why is this?

Anybody using a ZEDR16 with Ableton?
I'm trying to work it all out and thinking that I shouldn't have bought it now. I thought I would be able to send my hardware channels to my Vst effects, but can't seem to manage it. Also when I have it going into Ableton, the faders are useless as the volume only works of the gain. Anybody willing ...

Thanks for the system restore reminder. It seemed to do the trick, although I am still unsure why it did it.
Could it have been a Windows update?

Re: Syncing up a TR 707
You should be able to open a Midi channel and set the Midi so it's going out of your Midi interface in the 'Midi To' box.
Then it should play the sounds when you click on notes on the grid while playing.

Why is Windows 7 changing to basic colour scheme?
Hey guys,
For some reason my computer has started to switch to the basic colour scheme when I start Ableton.
I need the Aero to be running as in basic mode the audio glitches out.
This is a pain in the ass. Any ideas why it has decided to start doing this?

Re: CPU question, Intel i7 or i5?
Are there any facts out there stating whether Ableton would benefit from hyperthreading?
I have been reading that an overclocked i5 2500k performs better than an i7

CPU question, Intel i7 or i5?
I'm going to build a music p.c.
Would an Intel i7 make a difference to an i5 or is an i7 overkill?
Thanks.

Re: Kicks and snares sound like junk :/ Help please
If your bass is really low and subby like 30-60hz and hits at the same time as the kick then equing out the lower end of the kick may be necessary to stop them clashing. When I began producung, I was always the same thinking kicks had to be big and boomy though after a while I realised they can also...

Re: Kicks and snares sound like junk :/ Help please
Hi there, I have been producing for a few years now and have learned that in dance music, unless you are after a particular sound, the kicks we use rarely need to be layered. Especially so if you are using sample pack kicks as sample pack kicks are treated so that they can be used exactly as they are...
