i literally just figured it out. When you extend the beginning of your MIDI clip to a new start point, you are extending into the negative markers (you can observe this in the piano-roll. I could'ved saved you a bit of time but I failed to mention that I've experience with patchbays through my minor program but that program didn't go in depth about setting up a studio, only using them. And it was a 200+ point patchbay with who-knows-how-many connections and wires hooked up.
