Problem : When instantiating a VST plugin, Live shows this well known black xy square by default. Which from my experience not so many people really use. If you want to see or configure the more important plugin parameters you have to expand the view.

Problem : The MIDI generators in Live are great. But they produce just random patterns, there are no musical style considerations.

Feature Request : Specialized MIDI generators / players / Live devices (algorithmic or using AI, native, no M4L) for:
Bass, (like Sting 2 M4L or the included Sting 1 ...

Problem : In contrast to "Serum" or "Vital", Ableton's "Wavetable" Unison Mode can introduce phase cancelation using the non-sub oscillators.

Feature request : Reset phase / Random phase checkbox for the wavetable oscillators like in "Serum".

(Note: Just using Utility -> Bass Mono does not help ...

It is interesting that Cubase 15 is the first DAW that has this feature (or are there already others?). That no one before did this until 2025...

As option in Prefs "Create audio preview when closing". Should automatically select 10s at locator named "preview" or middle part of song to render preview. Not the song start, intro or outro.

Recently bought Softube "Wasted Space" Max For Live device in the Ableton Packs Shop.
Worked with 12.2. but now Live 12.3 says not compatible.
Anyone same issue?

Although I always use CTRL+R for renaming, right mouse + context menu selection is indeed a bit tedious.

Hey, i.m.o. an already possible "favourites" Collection or a filter bookmark in the browser, then double-klick or drag&drop is at least as fast as a right-click-context menu in the device zone would be. Don't you think so?

You're welcome. That list could be little shorter cause you can also deactivate plugin scaling in the plugin list, without instantiating first. But still plugin by plugin.

Maybe it is intended that you always have to press SHIFT + PLAY for this. But first of all no other live hardware controller I had does work like this, Ableton Push 2 and KK S MK 2 do it right. An second of all ...

End of 2024. Still the same with latest Live and Kontrol MK3 versions.

I wish for christmas (...or better for 2025) either:

• Ableton adds the option playhead behaviour to Live 12.

• NI adds the option play button behaviour to Kontrol MK3 settings.

Yeah plugin manager would be good.

I have used collections for this. But since Live 12 I use the new filter system. A good filter is better for certain things because it does not need to be maintained when new plugins are added. Defining a filter and pressing the "+" symbol creates a new entry in ...
