Re: Feature Wishlist 2024
My feature wishlist for an already great software: CHECKED list from 2023 against Live 12 UPDATE: I must add, that Live 12 introduced many changes and improvements, that where not on my wishlist, but that I really appreciate. DONE Combine freeze + flatten to be executed in one step (as option) DONE ...

Re: Automation write destroys clip structure. Why?
Yes of course I mean with overdub enabled it destroyes the clip boundries and clip naming. Else it would delete the MIDI data when writing automation.

Re: Multi re-name
Just for clarification: You know that multi clip select re-name already exists? Just not with unique numbering.
In my case I do not want auto-numbering when re-naming multiple clips at once. So for me it is fine as it is.

Automation write destroys clip structure. Why?
In Ableton arrangement recording automation in realtime overrides the clip structure. I like to consolidate MIDI clips (CMD+J) and name them properly. When recording automation with MIDI controller or Push the clips boundries are overwritten. Can anyone explain if there is a useful reason for this t...

Re: NI KONTROL MK3 Play Button Behaviour
Hey, yes it seems to be Ableton only for NI Kontrol S MK3 with this behaviour. I also have the Komplete Kontrol S MK2, and there it works all fine for my use-cases. In Bitwig Kontrol S MK3 restarts from last start position as I'd expect. In Cubase you can set different stop/play behaviour in prefere...

Re: How to organize your PC!
I just wouldn't install VST3s on external disk. Because the VST3 specification defines a fixed directory location where ALL VST3 have to be installed. It is also where Ableton Live will search for your VST3 plugins. They do not take much disk space. Organisation and ordering of plugins must be done ...

Re: NI KONTROL MK3 Play Button Behaviour
After using NI KONTROL S MK3 in several projects now here's a condensed wishlist how PLAY button should i.m.o. work in Ableton Live: If MOUSE is used to place playhead, pressing PLAY will play from that selected position. If PLAY button is pressed while playing, immediately re-play from last start p...

Re: Dock Plugins to the right side of the plugin chain
Hi there,
you know that you can already just drag&drop from Live's browser every FX plugin inbetween existing plugins everywhere in a chain?

Re: Fix the Show/Hide Detail View shortcut (CMD+OPT+L) on non-english keyboards
At least on my Windows Installation of Live, Cmd+Opt+4 (Ctrl+Alt+4) toggles the view, just like the old command Cmd+Opt+L (Ctrl+Alt+L) .

Re: NI KONTROL MK3 Play Button Behaviour
I noticed that even in Session Mode PLAY button on KONTROL S MK3 does not re-start scene. Only SHIFT+PLAY restarts clips. I.m.h.o. this is not good for fast iterating ideas and differs from other controllers used with Live. I wish this would be changed in an update. Or Live 12 should get an option t...

Re: ableton ignores folder in VST3
VST3 specification has a pre-defined standard folder (on Windows Programs\Common Files\VST3). So all VST3s should be installed there by default.
Sorting by Company, FX Type etc. is done depending of the DAW. Like mentioned above, Live (like many other DAWs) has filtering by company build-in.

NI KONTROL MK3 Play Button Behaviour
The way the Play Button currently behaves on the new KONTROL MK3 Keyboards in Ableton is just not right. Why doesn't it behave just same like Ableton Push or NI Komplete Kontrol MK2? Currently: PLAY starts playback and stops playback. Hitting Play again continues playback at current playhead positio...
