Hey there, it's over 5 years later, but I encountered the exact same thing as you. Crazy, that they still didn't fix this now even in version 10. Or has anyone a solution?

Why is Ableton „correcting“ the audio material to the right place after recording but not the MIDI notes, even though it’s such insignificantly small data compared to audio? There must be some workaround...

I have to have the buffer size quite high, since I want to be sure not to have dropouts, it's a lot of tracks in 96kHz, my laptop is not the newest and I don't need software monitoring ...
