Re: Why this obsession with mixing/mastering quality?
I use the special technique of SMASHtering when I'm finished with a song: I just slap a limiter on the Master, get it as loud as I can without distortion, and Voila! It's mastered LOL

Live 9 and Live 10 Packs with Live 11?
Hey, just set up a new basement DAW studio, bought, downloaded and installed AL 11 Intro. On the Ableton website, under Packs (Free), there are several free Packs specifying Live 9 and Live 10. Will these work with Live 11?

Re: Can I sing into Ableton Live using microphone?
Melodyne software will do this, but it doesn't come with Ableton. You will have to add it. There are probably other softwares that will do it, but the most reliable one seems to be Melodyne.

Re: Why this obsession with mixing/mastering quality?
PRODUCTION (mixing & mastering)COMPOSITION I need to have something cleared up once and for all. All this time, I thought the term "Production" was synonymous with "Mixing and Mastering," but apparently that's wrong. So "Production" is actually synonymous with &quo...

Re: Why this obsession with mixing/mastering quality?
Better have a good time making and listening to music, instead of forcing your ass in in the music world. Yes Yes Yes At this point in my musical ambitions, after realizing that perfect PRODUCTION (absolutely perfect mixing & mastering) is just too difficult, confusing, and time-consuming, I ha...

Re: Why this obsession with mixing/mastering quality?
Nothing at all wrong with your Soundcloud loop, sure sounds good to me. Great work! I hear you. Today's music atmosphere does seem all about PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION, PRODUCTION, and it is depressing. But still, Hard Techno is a niche genre within that aforementioned atmosphere. Just consider the Gram...

placing reference tracks into clips
I bought and downloaded a bunch of mp3 Progressive House tunes from Beatport, and now I want to place them into AL Session View audio clips for use as reference tracks. How exactly do I do that?

Save As or Copy when working on a set?
Kind of confused about the difference between Save As and Copy. When I have a set loaded up in Arrangement View, I often would like to try all kinds of variations on the structure, but I don't want to mess up the existing structure. Is it better to Save As or to Copy? So as not to mess up what I alr...

Re: sending AL5 and AL8 sets to AL10
jestermgee: If you are able to open the files in L11 but files are missing, you could reassign them that way anyway, shouldn't need to export the MIDI and import track-by-track? I will try that. Wish I had thought of it lol. Having just spent a goodly amount of time trying every which way to save an...

Re: sending AL5 and AL8 sets to AL10
Thanks for the response! I see the possible complications now. I don't remember a "Collect All..." in the AL5 Lite file menu, but I'll look again. In this set, these are all Midi clips with default AL Instruments. I also saved the set as a rendered .wav file (I want to send it to a few peo...

Re: sending AL5 and AL8 sets to AL10
I saved an .als file from AL5 Lite, on an older Windows XP computer, to USB stick, to be sent to AL10 Intro on my main Windows 10 computer. I then sent the .als file from the stick to the Music folder on the main computer, then was able to open it up from there to AL10. It's there! BUT... When I tri...

Re: sending AL5 and AL8 sets to AL10
Well, I was about to do that, then I thought it might corrupt something in the later versions of AL.
If that's ridiculous ( I hope it is), I will certainly try it

sending AL5 and AL8 sets to AL10
Is it possible to send sets (.als),created in AL5 or AL8 on different computers, to AL10 on my main computer? This would be using a USB stick. Or do I have to save an AL5 or AL8 set as a .mid or .wav file before I can send them over? I have 3 little DAW "studios," each on different compute...
