Re: Getting imported audio to play at original tempo?
just turn off the warp button in the clip view, then the file will play at the original tempo. But when I click the metronome it doesn't match the clip... I think the problem is that I'm taking a clip from a (lesson mp3) file on my PC and I don't know how to get Live to recognize that source as the...

Re: Pause Button
Looks to this newbie that there's no convenient way to PAUSE - maybe I can map a key on my MPK 249 to do that...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range
My Roland E09 'arranger' has its 675 'tones' nicely arranged into groupings (piano, sax, percussion, etc.) - so
1. is there somewhere I could get those simple 'synth' sounds to load into Live, and then
2. organize them into easily accessible 'folders' etc...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range
I'm pretty far into Live to want to make a shift - just disappointed they don't make simple (not sampled) 'synth'esizations of basic instruments available up front. I assume they can be found elsewhere, then I can create a folder for them. And anyway, I'm beginning to enjoy making music (etc.) in a ...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range
Then what I want is probably those MIDI sounds, because as a scientist I think there an excellent way to explore the basic physics of harmony, etc. It's a challenge to choose among the various grooves, clips, packs, sets, sounds, presets, etc. that Live offers. E.g. putting 457 the various 'device g...

getting started on Akai MPK249
I bought the Akai MPK249 because I wanted a compact keyboard that I could play and record simple accompaniments (rhythms, bass lines, etc.) to my live music making. I had hoped to find a simple DAW that would support perhaps a few dozen basic instruments – like the Yamaha and Roland $500 keyboards w...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range
Yes, I'd thought of that and will do more research on what I think I mean by 'instrument,' but every self-contained keyboard I've ever had - I'm on my 4th, a Roland E09 - (and none were very expensive) has some nice-sounding 'basic' instruments: STRINGS, BRASS, CLARINET, GUITAR that don't seem to be...

Re: Orchestral packs: poor range
This is my first post. I’m a classically-trained amateur musician who’s experimenting with sound, so I upgraded upgraded from Intro to Lite and then, yesterday, to Standard. I'm surprised not to find even basic orchestral instruments in the product. Live provides a fairly wide range of weird and pop...
