Please ignore this particular post. I made a mistake, posted again accidentally, and now I can't delete it. Whatever.

Re: Waves Plugins freeze Ableton Live when launched on secondary display
Hey! My issue is resolved! Thanks to Waves Tech Support for pointing me in the right direction. Here's the most relevant bit of the email they sent me: This issue may occur due to an application/service named Nahimic that might be running in the background. It’s an audio enhancement application tha...

Re: Waves Plugins freeze Ableton Live
That's a perfectly good catch, but unfortunately it's not the fix. Both displays are set to scaling of 100% within Windows Display Settings, and zoom is also set to 100% in Ableton. The notion of the scaling had already occurred to me, and so I had already checked it. But I didn't have to correct it...

Re: Waves Plugins freeze Ableton Live
As it turns out, it seems that the problem only happens when Ableton launches my Waves plugins onto whichever monitor is not marked as my "Main Display" in Windows Display Settings. Weird, huh? What I mean is, when I click the wrench to open a plugin's window, that plugin will open either...

Re: Waves Plugins freeze Ableton Live
More details about the new PC, where the problem is occurring: I don't have a crazy visual setup. I have 2 monitors, both connected with short DP cables to my NVIDIA RTX 3070ti. Both are the same exact Dell monitor, both running at 1920x1080 resolution, 60hz refresh rate. I don't have any Zoom turne...

Waves Plugins freeze Ableton Live when launched on secondary display
(EDIT on 11/21/23: I just wanted to clarify here, at the top of the thread, that my issue ended up being this: Waves plugins freeze Ableton -- or any DAW, as it turns out -- when they are launched on whichever display isn't set as the "Main Display" in Windows Display Settings. Waves plug...

Re: Does a M4L plugin exist which might collect a report of all mixdown settings?
Rivanni, I just wanted to say that I checked-out your example tonight, and it works exactly as you stated. This is a good, working example which demonstrates how the user-friendly values can be retrieved from whichever control was last touched by the user. I'm in the middle of a big mixdown project ...

Re: Disable Warp, please
I suspect that most people on this thread do know how to disable warp on individually-recorded tracks. I think, for most of us who are complaining, the problem is that there's no option to have warp disabled, by default, for newly-recorded tracks. Not having an option for this creates a lot of extra...

Re: ASIO Drivers Not Working
I wonder if the problem has more to do with Focusrite's ASIO driver? It's possible that, since Windows 11 is still fairly new, Focusrite haven't made certain necessary updates to their driver to ensure that it works correctly on Win11. I only suggest this because I use a Focusrite Sapphire Pro 40 in...

Fantastic. Thanks much for the example. I'll take a look at it the next chance I get.

Re: Does a M4L plugin exist which might collect a report of all mixdown settings?
Max for Live uses the same internal values as used in the XML, but it has one bonus feature: it can tell you the actual value as presented in the the program. This value is a read-only string of text that also includes the unit if there is one. That's good to know. That tells me, then, that Max for...

Re: Decoding ALS file format
Rivanni, thanks for helping to clarify the problem. The issues you speak of were on my mind, but you explained them in a way which is much clearer than I was able to do. Also, you brought a bit of vocabulary to the problem which helps to identify the difference between the two sets of numbers: The i...

Re: Decoding ALS file format
Hey all! This thread came to my attention because I'm interested in finding a more efficient way to document my mixdown-settings. Sometimes when I finish a mix that turns out really well, I like to document all my mixdown settings in a form which exists outside of Ableton. I do this because data sto...

Re: Does a M4L plugin exist which might collect a report of all mixdown settings?
It's good to know that an ALS file is really just a gzipped XML file. I decompressed a copy of a recent Ableton project, and took a good look at it. Technically, everything I'd want to document about a project "is there" in some form. But! All the numerical values are stored within the XML...
