Re: Time signature duplication

You can do this using duplicate or cut time. Why no copy time, I can't say. But if you need to paste somewhere else, cut then paste it right back so you don't lose it, then put the insert marker where you want to put the copied time, then paste again. There may be other ways, but I'm not aware of t...

Re: Scale awareness on/off ?

but, the state shown in the toolbar is reflective of all selected clips yes, but it's a bit of a red herring here. the issue is that this on/off can neither be controlled for the set, nor for the individual clips. that's kind of my point--there's no such thing as a global scale at the 'set' level, ...

Re: Change Key of the project with one click?

I was just able to confirm it appears possible to set scales on audio clips, and select all does look like it should work to allow you to "globally" set a specific scale by selecting all, and updating. I wasn't about to actually do that in my project, since it's nearly done, but you can d...

Re: Scale awareness on/off ?

caveat: I can’t do jack in M4L… but, the state shown in the toolbar is reflective of all selected clips—and behaves similar to when you select multiple clips to manipulate in the editor (i. e. shows asterisks when clips don’t all have matching settings). so I suspect it’s not an omission, so much as...

Re: Change Key of the project with one click?

AFAIU it’s not time-bound, but based on the clip. maybe try select all and then set everything to the desired scale? not sure how (or if) that works when audio clips are selected, but maybe an option.

really could use that updated manual for the scale awareness feature—it’s not always intuitive.

they moved all that functionality into the new browser, so they had to remove it from the manual 😅

Re: The move from Live 11 to 12

not a stupid question at all--you can keep both installed simultaneously. in fact, you probably should for a while, until you're comfortable working in 12 and know that any v11 projects you want to move to v12 are working properly. once you're good, you can remove Live 11 if you like. have fun!

Re: Is There Anything for Me in Ableton 12??

if you know about the new features and still aren’t sure, then you most likely don’t need it. I’d say save some $ and hold off for something more useful to you—or wait until they add some features you’d get some use out of.

Re: Why is the Live 12 icon the same color as Live 11 ?

honestly, it’s the same way with almost every other piece of software, so I guess I’m used to not relying on the icons themselves. I have both installed, and they’re both pinned to my taskbar. I just put 12 where 11 used to be and dragged 11 over to the other side so I don’t get them mixed up.

Re: Ableton 12 look

do a search for 'Ableton themes'. you'll find lots of places to download all sorts of options, and I think most have instructions on where to drop the theme files so they appear in the selection.

Re: How do I get TRUE mono????

just checked…it’s called Split Stereo Pan Mode right click and check the Select Split Stereo Pan Mode option and you’ll get two sliders. panning both to the same value should get you what (I think) you’re asking for. I know about that, and I tried it, But that’s not what I’m trying to accomplish. S...

Re: How do I get TRUE mono????

I think you can right click the pan and choose dual pan mode (probably forgetting the correct term). then pan both of the dual controls to the same value to get a true mono signal that you can pan to a specific point.
