I guess renaming files is probably easiest with a bit of Python. I understand just barely enough about Python to copy and paste code from StackOverflow succesfully.

I happen to own FLStudio from long ago, and
I found that the FLStudio SliceX plugin can do this for me, here's how:
1.) Create a new SliceX track (Drag a new SliceX onto a track - Plugin Presets / Generators / SliceX , or add a new SliceX track using the + in the channel rack)
2.) Drag your AIFF ...

I'm also looking for this feature. I need it for mixing but also for tracking. So I can turn off all plugins before recording to minimize cracks/pops due to CPU strain from the plugins. But then I wanna hear the playback with the plugins.
