I've been reading up on AMD's CPU's and specifically their 3D-cache feature.
My gut feeling says, with focus on the same budget:
More cores can handle more tracks / work better with Ableton.
I doubt if the additional cache decreases music/rendering computation.

I had several updates for packs not finishing.
Your 'Collect all and save' was the solution in my case.

I use version 11.3.4
Before installing a pack update I do every-time a collect and save on an empty project
