Re: Authorization needed after every Apple macOS update
Weird, I've gone through every update for Monterey, updated my machine to the Ventura Beta for about a week and went back to Monterey, have not had to authorize Live since I bought it and initially installed it last year.. Even moving from Monterey to Ventura and back to a Time Machine restored back...

Re: Monitor Loudness
60db is actually pretty nice, a bit low for the 'industry standard' but damn comfortable and loud enough to get everything done.. You can try this, https://abluesky.com/support/blue-sky-calibration-test-files/ although, depending on your setup, 85db is LOUD and probably meant for commercial size mix...

Re: UMC1820 Audio Interface Keeps changing ID numbers in Ableton...
Ok, I think I "solved it". I went into Audio Midi Configuration (on Mac) and into the Midi Studio. There, indeed, were several instances of "UMC1820". It seems like everytime (or every other time) I turn on the interface the computer does not recognize the previous UMC1820 midi ...

Re: mac OS upgrade and now plugins are deemed malware. cant open in Ableton
Well, if they're old plugins you've been using 'for years' they may not be updated for Monterey/Big Sur/Catalina/Mojave. Sounds like they don't have signatures or they've got the quarantine attribute turned on which happens when you install software that hasnt been signed off by Apple now. Each piec...

Re: How do I get access to Hybrid again?
It depends on how many licenses Akai gave you. I cant remember if its one or two as I have all of those too they came with my MPC, but you might only get one license for it (some of the Sonnox libs that come with the MPC only give you 1 license). It's possible you may have lost it because you need t...

Maybe we'll have some actual keys to move around the arrangement window like every other DAW by then too!Scoox wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 5:27 pmDon't worry I'm sure they'll implement it within the next 30 years.AndreProducer wrote: ↑Thu Jun 02, 2022 5:22 pmThe fact that there is no keyboard shortcut for this is kinda surprising / disappointing

Re: Using AIR Mini Grand and Velvet with Ableton Live 11 Intro
Okey-dokey. It transpires the DLL files are the VSTs. I set the VST2 custom folder to C:\Program Files\Steinberg\vstplugins and the plug-ins now show. Seems they're VST2s and not VST3s as I thought they would be. I also found a manual in C:\Program Files (x86) which seems odd since the programs are...

Re: VST 2 not seen in Live on M1 Mac studio unless using Rosetta ?
You can thank NI for that one. Had they used the same ID for the VST3 version it would've been seamless when you opened that project and you wouldnt even notice the VST2 was gone.. Now that they're finally getting their act together and sloooooooowly updating the plugins, they're going to have a lot...

No trouble here either on 12.3 with Live 11.1.1 (Intel Mac in case it matters). Export works as it always has for me.

Re: Buying a new Mac : Maxed out Mini or Mac Studio ?
Definitely, and for less thermal management due to the increased cooling. I'm still wondering if my mini will ever make a noise one day... I have a 2020 Intel and didn't believe mine had a fan in it until the day I decided to rip one of my DVD's with it. I thought it was the external DVD drive at f...

Re: Buying a 4K monitor - compatibility with Live?
Just watch it if you're using built in Intel GPUs.. The Mac actually upscales the display signal to 5K in this case and then scales it down to 2K (4K down to 2K is an uneven scale factor so it upscales it). My poor Mac mini had some hiccups with the MacOS GUI in general running at 'looks like 2K'. ...

Yup, another vote for MacOS scaling. Looks sharp and crystal clear on my 4K monitor. Just watch it if you're using built in Intel GPUs..
