This is from 2021
it's now 2023 and I have the same question. Sadly the help-section doesn't tell anything about TOO EARLY compensation and causes and what to do.
If anyone can shine a light on this, that would be great!

Re: Arrangement View takes over Export Length
I picked up a handy tip somewhere on here that works well for this scenario. Insert a MIDI track at the top of the Arrangement View, double-click to create a MIDI clip on this track and resize this clip to the length you want to render / export (also, allign to the start of your for-export arrangem...

Re: Arrangement View takes over Export Length
THAT was a quick one and another headache Ableton has given me: solved it with another friend: whenever you have ANYTHING in the arrangement view, the export dialogue bugs out on you and doesn't behave normally again, UNLESS you select the SCENE solo'ing the track doesn't help deactivating anything ...

Arrangement View takes over Export Length
Hej folks, I have a weird one My arrangement view takes over the export length when I just want to do a quick export from a session view clip (like as an MP3 for showing someone stuff). So whatever was selected previously there, if I go back to session view, select my clip like normally (in this ca...

yeah that is the key here with an external clock:
for Ableton to NOT be the master!

Re: External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
if all you need is a play/stop button you can just assign a midi controller. Sadly this is disabled when you put Ableton into EXTERNAL sync mode. However if someone knows an M4L device that can circumvent this, that be great. Not even the Push2's transport is accepted during EXT, nor a dedicated Co...

Re: External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
I found the issue folks, at least in relation to Elektron Boxes and specifically the Syntakt: it is the START/STOP behaviour where Elektron and Ableton get out of sync! In the vid below you can see and hear it. In the first half I start/stop with the stop button (single or double doesn’t matter here...

Re: External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
I stand by what I said earlier: if they implement it and Bitwig does it so as well, but without wonky midi-playback, it’s their version which is broken and not implemented well But changing DAWs isn’t an option atm, so I have to deal with that and somehow make it work. Slight jitter would be ok, ram...

Re: External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
Oh and what’s puzzling: so many ppl are saying “Yeah, don’t use that!” which is fine I guess as a statement But this isn’t a hack or workaround, this is a feature Ableton ITSELF is giving its users and it shouldn’t be so complicated at all to use it. I mean, using it at all, since an unstable clock ...

Re: E-RM Multiclock and Ableton Setup
Hej OP Have you been able to sync Ableton TO the E-RM clock successfully? As in: the clock gives the tempo and Ableton follows? Stable, reliable, all the time and everything using the clock is also not wonky and weird? It is a feature built into Ableton and I don’t get why they have it, it it’s unus...

Re: External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
I read this at some places
One would have thought that a thing so geared towards playing live and interacting with hardware as well, should be fucking stable by now in it's 11th iteration!
I mean Bitwig does and it's way younger

External Clock Sync // very unstable and wonky behaviour
Hej folks Elektron dropped a new update "Song Mode" on their boxes, which I'd like to use to orchestrate my external synths with whatever Ableton has to offer in my hybrid-setup, since Ableton also has problems with PC messages in session view (when a clip shall send it). The problem: I c...

Re: Push pedal ports
Resurrection this old corpse and it's for the Push 2 even: +1 to this! Despite not being a cheap pedal, my double pedal doesn't have a switch and the "trick" from the manual of plugging it in while pressed doesn't work at all. Sustain is on full midi 127 when resting and midi 0 when presse...

Re: Program Change Problem // First Note Weird/Off
Update No.2 after an extensive search, tests with DIN-midi vs USB-midi and even Logic Pro and two interfaces... I programmed a sequence into my Elektron box and in there I put two PCs in: one at the end, one in the middle. And the same thing happened why this nice person over at Elektronauts progra...

Re: Program Change Problem // First Note Weird/Off
Update: So far I still can't pin-point it down so it would be nice if someone else could replicate this as well or already has had the same problems and how to avoid them. At least for my Elektron machine I have found a great solution: This M4L tool acts as a buffer/cue to prime the machine early, ...
