Re: Change of the hardware - Preventing problems with licensing
That will depend on how each individual plug in manufacturer implements their licensing I’m afraid. You’d have to ask them all about this if you’re worried about it. Yes, I almost thought something like that. It does discourage changing the hardware of the computer. Basically, you need a dedicated ...

Re: Macros showing generic MIDI even with only one mapped parameter
I have also noticed this behavior.
Unfortunately, I do not have a solution for this problem either.

Re: Change of the hardware - Preventing problems with licensing
Live is already authorized so I doubt it will cause problems. Each Live license comes with two authorizations. If Live is only installed on this pc, you're good. If it isn't the only computer and replacing the graphics requires a new authorization, you can explain the situation and ask for a new au...

Change of the hardware - Preventing problems with licensing
Hello music friends,
I would like to install a new graphics card in my system. Since this changes the hardware ID, there should be a lot of problems with the licensing of Ableton and most of the plug-ins.
Is there a way to keep this problem as small as possible?
Greetings
Gral

Re: Backup file system not logical
Wouldn't it be a good idea if Live automatically saves the current set as a backup in the background every 5 minutes or so? In the event of a crash, when you restart, you will be asked whether you want the backup (maximum 5 minutes old) or the last version saved by the user.

Re: Live 11.3.3 visual lag & high cpu usage
Holy cow, I am about to buy a new computer over this. I was pretty sure it was just my iMac not handling my plugins on a couple of large projects, but yes, the screen drawing is weird and glitchy with these projects. Any difference going back to 11.2.11? I downgraded from 11.3.3 to 11.2.11. Now eve...

Re: Live 11.3.3 visual lag & high cpu usage
If you don't reenable ASD creation it will keep happening, as it is the ASD files that save the waveform drawing and warping data for each file, without ASD files Live has to recreate waveform drawing data and auto-warping data every single time for every single file. Ok, pottering. Thanks for the ...

Although here

it seems that it is not necessarily due to the *.asd files. Now I am confused. I'd rather stay with the 11.2.11 after all.

https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/9230108251164-Reanalysis-of-audio-files-after-updating-Live-to-version-11-3-2 Can anyone tell how long it takes to parse the .asd files? Does it have to be done individually for each project? I didn't have the Create Analysis File enabled, so it seems to h...

Re: Live 11.3.3 visual lag & high cpu usage
I have now worked a little with the 11.3.3 on the weekend and found that this version tortures the CPU tremendously. As others have already described, the GUI is often not operable for several seconds. I also get glitches in audio playback, which I never had before. Unfortunately, 11.3.3 is not usab...

Re: Midi clip spectrum/equalizer
Hello DHLman, this is how a spectrum analyzer works. It shows the currently present frequency spectrum of all active audio devices.... My suggestion would be to turn off the unwanted devices. This way only the frequency spectrum of the active device is displayed. An equalizer would completely distor...

Re: Activating/Deactivating all devices of a track at once.
You can also do this with dummy clips in session view. 1. Create an empty midi clip. 2. In "envelopes" select the device(s). 3. Under the device(s) select "device on". 4. Draw automation (on/off). Then you can select the devices, you want to deactivate. Yes, that could be done. ...

Re: Activating/Deactivating all devices of a track at once.
I do this with ClyphX Pro but I guess you could do it by grouping all the devices and then you just need to turn the group off which should turn all the devices off. I think you can keymap the group on/off button to speed things up. Thank you Greenapples2019 for your answer. I think I remember read...

Activating/Deactivating all devices of a track at once.
Hello, I have a question to which I have not yet found an answer. I have some VST's which are quite power hungry (e. g. DIVA, some IK VSTs). Is it possible to activate or deactivate all the devices of a selected track with one shortcut? Sometimes I want to deactivate a track so it doesn't use any or...

Re: Volume fader limit to 0dB
Not sure if this is relevant, but since really getting into this, I've now got all of my tracks set to -6db at the start. My default audio or midi setting is always at -6db (but it could be -9, 12, whatever) Two things: Not only does it give more headroom for mixing, but it saves me from having to ...
