Re: MIDI note not triggering, other odd anomalies
Working on something else tonight - no synth at all, just stock VSTs - and encountered more MIDI mysteries. Simply trying to copy-paste very basic basic bass loops and they would go out of sync with the other loops very quickly. I finally had a brainwave to try adjusting the buffer. The setting was ...

MIDI note not triggering, other odd anomalies
I just picked up a Novation Peak and am trying to compose some music triggering the synth via Ableton. I'm trying to record the MIDI I've written to an audio track, but every time I reach a certain point, a particular note does not sound. It's not muted. I delete the note and rewrite it into the pia...

Re: Arrangement Playback In Sync but Recording of it Goes Out of Sync
@tarekith Thanks for the suggestion. I managed to fix the problem by dragging one of the tracks slightly forward in time. It turns out that the one internal Ableton MIDI instrument I am using recorded right from go, whereas the other three tracks - all external gear synced via MIDI and lined in to c...

Arrangement Playback In Sync but Recording of it Goes Out of Sync
I have been experimenting with how to integrate my hardware with Ableton lately. The method I'm following is arranging everything by recording MIDI loops which trigger the outboard devices on playback. When I listen back to my latest Arrangement, everything is perfectly together and it sounds great....

Re: Finger Drumming
What's up friend? I'd say to finger drum you need to create a MIDI track which allows you to trigger your drum sound source from your MIDI device. In my case, I am using a small MIDI keyboard to trigger an external drum synth. They 'talk' to each other through the MIDI track, which is made possible ...

Re: MIDI Effects Ideas/Tips for Hardware Drum Synth?
@craigyboy Absolutely, thanks so much! I can't seem to locate the 'Chance' function from the first link, but there are a lot of useful tips here exactly in the vein I was hoping for. Thanks again

MIDI Effects Ideas/Tips for Hardware Drum Synth?
I am working on integrating the Vermona DRM-1 MKIV into my Ableton setup. Because this drum machine can only be sequenced externally, I am trying to figure out ways to apply MIDI effects to spice up my drum patterns. I find that some of the effects under 'MIDI Effects --> Velocity' are pretty useful...
