Ok, sorry for the bother, just found out that now with Live 12, we can have both device and clip view in sight. Sorry for the stupid question

How can I prevent ableton live to switch my clip view to device view when I play and record automation?
Hello,
Whenever I record an automation with my midi keyboard, while playing, Ableton Live suddenly changes my clip view to device view, making it pretty hard to continue playing. Is there any way to prevent that?
Thank you for your help,
T.

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
...ah...i reckon i understand your problem now: you don't have a scale selected on your bass and therefore switching to the bass-clip changes the "overall scale" to "nothing"....but why don't you have a scale selected on your bass track?...you could also put a scale device on this track and when ...

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
"THAT SAID :
M4L API allows us to set the scale and the root note. So, I guess someone (me ?) could write a device that selects a given scale when you select a given track. Would it work for you ?"
...i think this is possible with this device: https://www.soundmanufacture.net/devices/scaleomat ...

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
Ok I think I get it @Télémaque :
You use Push to input notes in live recordings. You want Push to be set at a specific scale when you play (and record).
But : the "current scale" (it's a better terminology than "global scale" because THERE IS NO GLOBAL SCALE IN LIVE 12), remains as the last ...

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
…what is not clear to me: do you use ableton‘s „scale“ device on the tracks?…and if so…are these set to have scale awereness?…
Thank you for your reply, I set the scale on a clip on the device of the tracks. What is not clear, is what the point of having scale awareness if it doesn't keep track ...

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
Ok, maybe this video will make more sense...
http://youtu.be/OSjGugR9RzA
I record live loops, and I can't set the scale of a specific track.
If I set the scale on one clip in a track, and I record a new clip, it will default to that scale, but if I change the tracks (which is the essence of live ...

Re: Pressing Stop Button resets the global scale
I know, to explain this simply, if I put on a scale on a track. If I press Stop all clips, sometimes the scale reverts to C Major. So when playing live, this is a KILLER BUG!

Re: MPK261 Not Showing an Input / Output Option
In my case, I was using a usb hub and it didn't work. Switching to a direct usb connection did the trick!
