This implies 2 in and 2 out. Is how I’d interpret it. Meaning there wouldn’t be a 3+4.

Just some other points for clarity: The mixer itself works completely fine as a standalone device. Each input works as it should. When there is an instrument plugged into input 1 and another instrument plugged into 2, then they both play together on the same input channel. Essentially channel 1 + 2 ...

Changing the driver type hasn't changed the number of inputs unfortunately. The manual for the mixer doesn't mention much about setup, just that you shouldn't need to download any other drivers.

Just bought an Alesis iMultiMix 8 and Ableton is struggling to detect anything other than 1 and 2 as an input. It works perfectly fine on 1 and 2 and outputs audio as would be expected, but it isn't allowing me to select a new input. They also don't show up in the input config in preferences either....

Try using one of the shortcut keys (Ctrl+1 to narrow, Ctrl+2 to widen, 3 for triplets, 4 to hide the grid). Hope this helps.

This is a feature currently available in Audacity in which you can record any audio directly from your output device. Very useful for sampling straight from other applications instead of using strange converter sites. Would be an amazing feature for Ableton!

Not a solution for Ableton, but Audacity provides its own loopback feature in the preferences menu. Just need to set your recording device to whatever audio output you're using but with (loopback) next to it.

That's a locator. If you right click it there should be an option to "Set song start time from here" just click the option again and it should change the song start to the beginning.

Could be an electrical issue? Are you using a computer plugged into the mains anywhere?

Does this happen regardless of the project you're working on?
