Very nice, thank you! Rated and commented I found another M4L device that gives a 'flat' list of all plugins used, which is useful if you just want a list of which plugins are used in a project. But, it doesn't include track information, so this is very helpful to have.
Thanks again.

Extracting text from 'missing plugins' window
Ableton's 'missing plugins' window ("Some plug-ins are disabled. Please see below for details.") is useful, but is there any way to copy the text displayed in it? As far as I can tell, the window isn't resizable, and the text can't be copied, which means you're stuck just reading the text,...

Re: Viewing missing plugins when media files are missing
This is obviously an old post at this point, but just in case someone is looking for information on this and finds this post, the issue seems to be addressed here. Unless it's changed recently, it doesn't appear you can access the missing plugins list if files are missing as well.

Re: Ableton 'spins' indefinitely when turning plug-in folders off
If you mean Alchemy as in the (now) Logic synth, that's pretty cool I'm surprised there are copies of the standalone version still around!

Re: Ableton 'spins' indefinitely when turning plug-in folders off
Thanks for the reply! That's interesting. I tried removing every 'duplicate' VST2 plugin, but it still hangs. But, it's good to know someone else has encountered similar behavior. Maybe I'll figure it out at some point, but as long as it doesn't actually cause any problems, I suppose it can just be ...

Ableton 'spins' indefinitely when turning plug-in folders off
When I turn off 'Use VST2 Plug-In System Folders' or 'Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders' in settings, a spinning circle and a 'Cancel' button appear. Ableton appears to be getting stuck there - I've let it run for as long as 30 minutes, and it's not completing. Cancelling it does work, and turning the...

Re: Automating parameters of third-party plugins via macros
The only workaround that I know of is to use maxforlive to iterate through the 0-127 range and grab the values for displaying on a live.dial. This though changes the dial to the enumeration type which can be automated but not modulated. Maybe this will change in the future but it's been this way si...

Automating parameters of third-party plugins via macros
I hadn't really thought about this much before, but it seems there are some limitations with automating configured parameters of third-party plugins using macros. (Maybe this is user error, but I did quite a bit of searching on the topic.) When you map a configured parameter of a third-party plugin ...

Re: Edit Device Title Bar for plugins?
+1. Is it true you can't edit device title bars for plugins? (It doesn't appear that you can.) If it is true that you can't edit them, does anyone know why that is?
[Edit: As a separate but related issue, I'm also wondering if/why you can't rename groups that are closed/folded, as mentioned earlier.]

Re: Resizing Group tracks in arrangement view
+1 I can understand that the group track needs to show the stems when the group track is folded. So I cannot reduce the height-size too small. But when I unfold group track, I don't need to look at the stem's thumbnail, because all tracks are unfolded, I can just look at my tracks directly. The hei...

Re: Edit Device Title Bar for plugins?
I don't see any option to rename the group You should be able to rename the group. However, it seems you have to have the group expanded (not folded) in order for the 'rename' option to be available. That said, I was also wondering about not being able to rename devices for third-party plugins. Doe...

Re: How to start playback from beginning of project?
Personally I've always found starting playback to be a bit fiddly in Ableton compared to e.g. Logic, but it may be there are features I'm overlooking. Anyway, not sure if this helps, but if you don't have playback set to start at a locator or the loop region, it'll start at the insertion point or th...

Re: Help with Auto-Tune Artist 9.2.1 & Ableton Suite 11.3.13
Not exactly the same problem, but I had an issue with all Antares plugins crashing both Ableton and Logic when added to a track (Silicon Mac, not using Rosetta). Fortunately, simply restarting the computer fixed it. Not sure what caused it.

Re: Re-sizable group track headers
+1 Please make it OPTIONAL to have the ghosted mini arrangement of the contents of the group displayed. Nested groups become ridiculous very quickly. So much wasted space. I find Ableton's lack of user options verging on Apple's arrogance. No you can't re-assign a keyboard shortcut. We've already c...

Re: Newb question - where are my plugin windows when reopen my set??? ?
Empirically, third-party plugin windows don't appear to reopen if a project is re-opened (at least on Mac). Not sure if there's a way around that. If not, I suppose you just have to re-open them manually.
