Problem solved. It turns out that I needed to lower the I/O vector size (not the signal vector size) in MaxMSP. How stupid of me. Sorry to waste space/time/resources.

Mabye I should give a few more details. Live is running as ReWire master and
MaxMSP as ReWire slave. MIDI notes are being sent to MaxMSP to trigger the VSTi Oddity synth. The resulting audio is sent back to Live to be output.

The midi timing of notes send to MaxMSP through ReWire is sluggish compared to notes triggered directly in Live. For testing, I used the Oddity
VSTi loaded in Live and in MaxMSP. Is this caused by a bug, or could I
be doing something wrong?
